Still just out of my price range, I'll be even more excited when it's a similar price to the West Wing, at £44 ish... that said if you've got the money, this is a HOT deal! Epic tv.

I completely agree. This is a fantastic price. I am currently watching my box set and I love it. Definitely worth this low low price.

I think you will be waiting at least till next xmas for that.
#14
Never watched it myself, until the other day when i bought it from HMV, brilliant stuff, imagine the godfather but nearly 69 hours long. Top stuff and well worth the money.
#15
Got it for Xmas and half way through series 4. I've watched the complete series before and I agree with everyone else, it's probably the best series ever made. It can be extremely violent but there's also quite a lot of humour, some of which I'm only appreciating second time around. If you haven't seen it, buy it.

I think all 6 series will be released on bluray soon, series 1 is already out here, series 6 is out in america so if you have a bluray player you might wanna wait for the bluray boxset!

Yah, but can you imagine how much they will fleece us for blu-ray.

And I echo everyone's comments regarding how brilliant Sopranos is. If you've not seen it, you are really missing out on some gripping entertainment.

Great price, I've bought this for over £90 when it first came out. It is THE best TV series ever. And no, there won't be any more. :(

This is my "golden gate bridge". I have handbraked these onto my ipod touch so I can watch in bed. It takes me about 3 months to get through the entire sets by which time im ready to start again at the beginning. On my third round at the moment and it gets better everytime. The best TV show ever for those who like mafia drama.
#20
My favorite episode is when Chris and Paulie get lost in the snowy woods , I think the Episode is called Pine Barrens . Funniest moment in the entire series when Paulie gets that phone call with the terrible reception from "T" about the Russian Green Beret who killed 16 Chechen rebels with his bare hands from the Interior Ministry .

not at the moment - but when James Gandolfini runs out of money and stops asking for a million pounds an episode, they may bring it back :) - there are no plans though ( shame )

I think its the best show ever too, and is great to watch in a boxset stylee. (You will often wanna watch "Just One More"...) how ever I violently disagree with the above, it is surely Goodfellas nearly 69 hours long.

That sounds like hell to me. The Sopranos is class though. But it's The Wire FTW

Just like friends.

Brilliant show but quite grim nonetheless, an insight into the east cost families.

How violent is it? The reason I ask is because after watching The Wire and The Shield recently me and the missus are keen to get into another classic tv box set but she is a bit worried that it might be too gory for her tastes! I have heard great things about this show so am very tempted but doubt I would have the time to watch it on my own.

In the show people ...

get beaten up by baseball bats
get hot coffee poured on them
get runover
get shot several times
get strangled
get chopped up into several pieces

Not very violent :p

To answer your question seriously its very violent but I wouldn't say its gory. BUY IT!

mmmm...

I think the deal you refer to was a price match of play which got very hot and neither deal was 'alive' long beacuse as soon as play increased their price so did Amazon.

other than that I can't help you. **** happens!

As someone else said - violent, but not gory really. I am quite screamish when it comes to that sort of thing - cant watch hospital dramas etc, but this was fine.

If I remember correctly, some of the more gory parts are actually quite funny...

I'm gunna try and hold out for that too, or a misprice lower than that :D - I've got too many unwatched DVD's at the moment - Seinfeld series 1-10, I've only seen 8 episodes! And I'm getting through Curb too.
