Soul Caliber V Collector's Edition (Xbox 360) £17.99 @ GAME (Instore)
I did something I rarely do today... went into the King's Lynn branch of GAME! And I noticed, sitting there on the floor, a minty copy of Soul Caliber V: Collector's Edition. Took it to the till and asked if all the extra stuff was still with it and he said, "Oh yeah, it's brand new. They were forty-two quid yesterday, we just marked 'em down today" Whaaaa? Then he nipped out back and got me a fresh one! Ha!
So, if you've got a GAME near you and you fancy this particular title, it's worth taking a look at. Really nice CE, with the usual extras of a music CD, making of DVD, an art card, a parchment and the oh-so-popular art book, all rapped up in a nice looking faux-book. Not bad for eighteen squids!
Still £42.99 on their website, but worth keeping an eye on in case it goes down on there too.

This is precisely the reason I rarely go into any GAME. But today was a quiet day and I had some time to spare, so thought I'd have a bit of a mooch. The last thing I got in there was a mint copy of Mass Effect CE. That was definitely pre-owned, but by someone who clearly didn't eat Wotsits whilst playing the game! Most everything else is a pile of poop. Sometime you just luck out though.
I always, always, check the game before leaving the shop or, at the very least, before leaving town, just in case I get a bad copy. I picked up a pre-owned copy of AVP in Gamestation just before Xmas. I chose the mintiest box on the shelf and took it to the desk, only to be presented with something that looked like it'd been used in lieu of bog roll! Told the chap I'd picked the best case on the shelf and so wanted the best game, which he promptly got for me. Sometimes you just have to be firm. But sorry to hear you got screwed over this time; hope you have luck tomorrow (later today!) returning it. :)
I'm just telling you what he told me. The only explanation I can think of as to why they used a pre-owned sticker instead of a sale one is that there might be a tax difference. Either that or it's simply a matter of they had run out of sale tickets! ;)
CEX are the worst and HMV have a fetish of sticking those long strips of thick security tagged plastic around everything including special editions.

i noticed at times like HMV Asda also do that with their security tags lol especially on their sale or reduced games
Do you know whether this applies to PS3 stock as well?

The PS3 price is this same as well, there's been one copy at the Birmingham Bullring branch sitting on the floor for a while.
I got a copy of SWTOR CE a few weeks ago when it was £50, brand new with a smashed statue and no cd key!
