It's an excellent musical and a fantastic (almost true) story.
I have a real soft spot for this film / musical as I acted in this once upon a time. Thanks for posting cath1510

it's total codswallop, bad acting with the biggest shrieking sounding songs ever sung. it scared my child into crying. that's true

Yeah; it's so bad it won all these awards back in 1965 and in 2011 it still gets a very healthy 7.9 on IMDB. Each to their own - but there really isnt any bad acting in this film.

This is an amazing film and one of my childhood favourites (alongwith The Great Escape).

Think you can get this for £6.79 from HMV using their 20% off code though.
