Are Children still free?

According to the zoo website, children aged 3-15 are free, but adults cost £16.50 each.

https://www.southlakessafarizoo.com/plan-your-visit/

So effectively, this voucher gives the adults (just under) half price entry.

However, the terms state that with this voucher, additional children (above the 2 included) will cost £9 extra each.

Cool. Oh well... £16 still a good deal if the WishFM ones sell out.

This zoo is defo worth a visit one of the best I've been too. I visited Blackpool zoo shortley after and thought a lot of enclosures there seemed very small in comparison. We went on one of the donations for entry weeks, which I thought was a fantastic idea.

FAMILY FRIENDLY ADMISSION PRICES:
Adult (16-59 Years) £16.50 Per Person
Senior (60+ Years) £11.00 Per Person
Child (3-15 Years) FREE*
Under 3 FREE
Guide Book & Map £4.00
*Terms & Conditions: Every full paying adult/senior on our family friendly admission offer entitle you up to 4 FREE children. Additional children beyond the offer entitlement are £9.00 each. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion.

I'm confused why you say 'No need for any vouchers'?

For us (2 adults + 1 child), it would cost £33 i.e. 2 x £16.50 adult price... so with this voucher, we are saving £17, or £19.80 if we'd got the WishFM one.

My apologies I read the thread wrong.

We used the wishfm voucher about a month back without issue. Great zoo, well worth a visit even with all the bad press it's had over the years. It's had its share of issues but most zoo's have.

Surprised this place is still open after having to fork out half a million in fines and fees this year and then also losing it's licence at start of the month ( http://www.barrowbc.gov.uk/EasySiteWeb/GatewayLink.aspx?alId=4186 )

We went about 5 years ago and it was really nice but quite out of the way.

You might want to make sure they lock the gates on the Tiger enclosure too...

Probably a stupid question, but I presume this deal works as an 'up to 2 adults and 2 children' so would be acceptable for a couple with 1 child, or no children but someone who is far more excited about giraffes than is healthy for a grown person?

I wanted to go over the bank holiday but on the metro site it says that it can't be used, but on the wish site it doesn't say anything about bank holiday - or at least not that I can see anyway. Do people think it's worth the risk?

I think its just 'up to' 2 adults and 2 children... not the requirement. We are family of 3 and have used a voucher like this before, no problems.

I don't think they accept any of these type of vouchers on Bank Holidays, as they are probably busy enough on those days anyway.

We've been to this zoo 3 times previously over the last 6 or 7 years, usually as part of a short stay in the lakes as its a canny drive from Newcastle. We've never had or seen any safety issues when we've visited - that's not to say they aren't there. It generally has appeared to improve over the years, but lets hope they can sort it out and get their license renewed (they have up to 6 months to apply).

for anyone considering going, we went today and had a great day (kids 7, 4, 2)! read some recent reviews on trip advisor and didnt agree with any negatives pointed out.
it doesnt look run down, animals seemed happy, staff ok.... but for £13 it was fantastic!! to be honest even if i paid full price i would have been happy we felt it was that good.
and the chance to feed/stroke so many animals the kids loved it, will be getting another voucher and going back in a few weeks time.

We visited last week, and the zoo has changed since we last visited, and for the better in our opinion. The entrance has changed, and it seems a lot better routed to get around. We did however notice that almost all of the high walkways have been removed, so all the animals are viewed from the ground only - I guess that was one of the concerns, the high wooden walkways

These vouchers are now £9.90 for a family of 4 on 102.4 wish Fms website.. They expire 30.10.16 and can be used in half term ... Great deal
