Well stop adding heat or more people will see it, more people will order and i think that would increase the chances of them seeing something is up. Happens everytime.
#12
took a punt but they should really honor it as if i went in shop and brought it they'd have to accept
#13
Not expired.Still there!

Unfortunately on both counts you are incorrect. If a shop advertise a product incorrectly then they do no have to honour it, they may do in good faith. In contract law when you take an item to a till to purchase it there is a known condition of "offer and acceptance". When you go to a till, the common law recognises that you the individual are actually offering the seller your money to purchase the product. They in turn accept your offer and then the contract is formed.

WIth regards to e-commerce regulations internet sellers do not have to honour orders untill they have sent a confirmation of the purchase via email to you. However most sellers include in their terms that the contract is not complete until they take the money out of your account.

Unfortunately for us consumers, the law appears to favour heavily in the way of the seller. We dont have much protection until the contract is bound!

Of course what you mean is that unfortunately the law affords companies to cover themselves when mistakes are made. It's ahrdly a travesty or an injustice that someone doesn't get to buy a blu ray boxset for £2 as a result of someone's mistake.

I don't disagree with the fact that the law offers protections for mistakes. The point i was trying to put accross it that people should not expect to have the offer as it is clearly a mistake. The other point i was making is that consumers do not have protection until they enter into a contract and therefore as a result should not moan about the fact that HMV will canel all orders.

Retailers do have a lot of protection online with regards to advertising, whether or not they mistakenly put a price on or intentionally put a low price on to entice you to visit their website in the hope you find another bargain. I was just highlighting both sides of the arguement.

It doesn't affect me either way whether hmv honour this or not.

Ordered 1 thanks, expecting cancellation email though

has anyone had there order sent out from HMV so far? I am really thinking of buying the set but I just don't want to get disapointed if I have no chance of getting the order from HMV because they might not agree to the misprice.

Well both seasons are in their Top 10, so they are going to notice it anyway. Good luck to all those who have ordered them.

I've got an email through to 'check they have the right mailing address'
no idea if this is an actual confirmation.
anyone had this? Cannot wait for this to arrive!
#32
Don't hold your breath guys
#33
we should be allright unless some greedy **** ordered 100 copies.
#34
Just ordered both. If it was a mistake, surely they would have sorted it by now.
#35
I wonder if they keep the over-stock for instore in the same place as the website? We are maybe doing HMV a favour by taking these off their hands, what with all the space they have to lease to hold the over-priced products they sell instore, the quicker they sell things, the more they have to sell for peanuts to the administrators in the next few years.
