I popped into Marks and Spencers the other day and someone was touting for business for m and s energy, which is run by Southern Electric, Scottish Hydro Electric or SWALEC depending on where you live.

I am already with Southern Electric, so signed up to m and s energy, which leaves me on exactly the same tariff, same account number, same payment details etc. but I now get £20 M&S vouchers and will get another £10 now I've signed up to paperless billing.

So £30 vouchers for changing from Southern Electric to Southern Electric! I even have to go onto the Southern Electric website to access my online account!

I did this instore, but it looks like you can easily do it online as well

And you have tied youself into another contract i guess

I switched from Npower to British Gas Dual Fuel only yesterday.

28 day rolling contract with guranteed lower tier 2 prices (tier 1 only slightly higher)
£72 VAT credit
Free 6-Way standby saver worth £20
Free 'Owl' clip on energy monitor worth £35

Comparing prices on my last bill BG would have been £80 cheaper than Npower

No contract, just standard 28 days notice. I am happy with what I am paying for Southern Electric, so for me it's a £30 freebie.

I wouldn't recommend anyone changing to Southern Electric for this, but if you are already with them and happy then you might as well get some freebies.

Just hoped to help some people who are already with Southern Electric get a freebie, but people still vote cold! Pointless posting sometimes!

I genuinely think some people are just happier complaining and picking holes than trying to see the upside. Hot from me
