or buy the model from Tesco

Technika 19" HD Ready LCD TV with built-in Freeview & DVD player LCD19DVD-208

for £145, ( plus Quidco if you buy online ) with 290 tesco clubcard points, just walk instore and pick one up, much easier returns system as well if you have a problem.

Forgot to add - This TV comes with 2 Year guarantee - so either have your tesco model which is not the same spec and a years guarantee or go for the Play.com model and get 2 years peace of mind. BTW Tesco only offer one years warranty.

Dunno if its national, but Stafford Tesco also have a 19" TV/DVD with freeview that can pause TV and record to a USB stick. It includes a 4Gb stick and is also £150.

2 years peace of mind from play :w00t:

you only get 28 days warranty with any play.com item and then you're on your own with the manufacturer (if they are still around!). :-D

I don't quite get voting on HUKD somtimes - OK this isn't a stunning price for a 19" LCD but it is £40 cheaper than Amazon. No one who's posted with the technika details have shown any evidence that it's better than the Sovos - in fact we know it's pretty poor - but benefits from Tesco being easy to deal with.
This is certainly not a 'hot' deal but -88 seems a bit harsh :?

For £149.99, there's also this one in Argos & a free £10 voucher: Grundig GU19WDVD3 19in HD Ready Digital LCD TV/DVD Combi. 529/5580

Fact is it seems to be normal price, not a bargain.

Which would be a temperature of 0 not -80 odd. I guess all these cheap n nasty LCDs are regarded as the same 'model' ...

Online the model with USB record but no DVD is £149.99, the model you describe is £199.97 online - if you're sure it was the DVD model it's a real bargain

Thats what the sign said, but I thought it said £30 off not £40 so may be wrong?

Got a link or a model number for that? That'd be a nice feature to have...

Too lazy to find you a link - but if you go to Tesco Direct and search in TVs for Technika it'll show up...
I don't know much about them; e.g. whether it can play DivX from the USB...
