These are really good bulbs, very bright and fast to illuminate, superb deal.

I wonder who is subsidising those low energy bulb offers? Probably the EU or our Government, so in fact we all pay with our taxes anyway (and as usual, poor people pay the subsidies through higher energy prices; you can't win). :(

The offers backed by the energy companies are subsidised by the energy companies as part of an agreement they made with the treasury, so your right - its another hidden tax imposed by Brown, this time on your energy usage.

Ikea is well to the top of my list of stores to avoid but these are a bargain and voted hot.

I had many of these a few years back.

They all died prematurely.

And they cost a lot more than 5p each !

what does op mean pink and blue? Surely they are not actualy pink/blue?

Yeah I wondered that, if they are pink shades and blue shades then only good for a specific themed lamp for example, no good for general use (unless you like pink all over the house)

Mind you there aren't that many lamp fittings with this fixing, outside of Ikea obviously

Nearest branch to me is on the North Circular Road (A406, London), Wembly Ikea - still about 15 miles away. If anyone saw this today, or in the next couple of days please report, I may pay a visit - and pick up the usual junk as well for 30/40p that I always do...

Which, as well as being factually incorrect, has nothing to do with this deal.

These aren't subsidised.

A good blog which resolves some common myths about CF bulbs.

I've found these to be inconsistent in the light they give, but 10p for 2 you can't argue!
