Spartacus: Blood And Sand Series 1: £17.85 (DVD) & £26.85 (Blu-Ray) @ TheHut

SpudUKSpudUK

Cheaper by more than £5 (DVD)next to the closest competitor (Tesco @ £23.20) and cheapest for Blu-ray by a good few pounds.

Good series too (although I reckon it'll be compared unfairly to Game of Thrones).

Also one of the most gripping TV series ever. Cannot wait for Season 2!

Absolutely brilliant series. But my wallet can not say yes to the Blu-ray at £26. Will wait 6 months for it to come down in price. Voted hot as deal is good at this moment in time.

Superb series, very tempted with this.....

BTW get well soon to the lead actor, he couldn't do the second series due to cancer:(

Tons of CGI claret and oodles of nubile T&A - that's a night in with the missus sorted then.

I thought this was a lot of rubbish myself, a case of how much bad language can you fit into a program, not that I dont swear, but this was just stupid and the performances of everyone involved were akin to that of something that floats and burns (no not a witch, or a duck)

Don't see why it's unfair to compare it to Game of Thrones, which has the same quota of boobs, bums and gore, but unlike this has a decent script. I was particularly moved by the scene in GoT where Aidan Gillen talks about the lost love that broke his heart while watching two naked whores fist-feck each other on a chaise-longue.

    second series was better imo

Gods of the Arena was good but not better than Blood and Sands.

Those that dont like it fair enough, but there are plenty of fans that do and eagerly await the next season.

The CGI effects, the sex, the violence are all blown to the extreme deliberately, and I love it!

However would only get this on Blu-Ray and may actually wait for the price to drop a little more.

I think you missed the point, it was supposed to be over the top in the first couple of episodes and then mellowed with brilliant script, twist and turns.
Gods of the arena was good, but imo this was better
