No, they take the value of the gift card out of your refund if you don't return it.

ordering ipod, is £169 but biggerr version is better value with a £20 card, but costs £219

That's a 10% off with minimum £50 purchase.
Doesn't sound that hot to me?

Plus it's a gift card meaning that you are committed to another sale with them.

If they allowed this, this would mean argos would effectively allow you to print your own money. as people would do this over and over again.

You said argos allowed this before, but i dont know any companies who would allow this.

Thanks for heads up :)

If an item is returned without the gift card, the total value of the gift card will be deducted from your total refund, there isnt a way around this, and this is a policy all stores follow.

Gift cards are also no longer given out when purchasing gift cards, I know some people used to buy £100 of gift cards, and get £110 back etc, but this loophool is now closed.

Hope you lot manage to get some bargains, glad I could help out.

Last time this was on I had a fight with the manager in my nearest local store as they refused to give me the gift card because I bought a gift card.

The terms and conditions printed on a poster in store did not state that gift vouchers were excluded but he refused to budge and said "We are entitled to change the terms at our discretion, [B]especially if we feel they are being abused[/B ]". I asked him if he was accusing me of abusing the system to which he didn't reply.

I emailed customer services and they replied stating that gift vouchers WERE INCLUDED and to take the email to the store. The manager was furious when I went back and kept me waiting for nearly ten minutes whilst he "contacted head office". When he returned he gave me the free gift card stating "The decision I made was final and I do not have to do this but as a gesture of goodwill I will on this occasion"

The other store I went to handed over the free gift card with no questions!

we bought something using the gift card and returned it. The new gift card you get as a refund is the standard gift-card with a long expiry date ( 2 to 3 years0. it is a bit of a hassle, but a way out to overcome the early expiry date.

If you do want to do this, make sure the item is not exempt from the 30 day money back guarantee

If I were to buy using the quick pay kiosk, how I would get the voucher?
#33
I was wondering the same... I would have thought you would have been given the voucher at checkout, but that won't happen at the kiosk?

Well when I went to the store today there was someone who was buying around £500 of gift vouchers and getting the extra £50.

So it must be that some stores don't know that the loophole has been closed.
