3 nis very underrated. Forcing Rami to cram Venom into a crowded polt, that was trying to tie up the Harry Osbourne, Mary Jane / great power trilogy, was a big mistake, and an example of studio interference making a film weaker than it could have been.

But it was still a decent movie.

Good deall.

are they gonna make a #4

if they do i hope kirsten dunst isn't in it :( i can't stand her

How's the blu-ray quality for these films? (should really have asked that before buying i suppose lol)

kirsten dunst is well fit as mary jane as far as im concerned

Corrected:p
#12
she's annoying as **** & doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

surely they could have done better.....
#13
A little harsh super_hoops. she only has nice to things to say about you as well:-D
#14
lol i could have been harsher i'm sure :)

I just can't stand her.
#15
I had hoped they would have re-instated the removed scenes from the first one by now.
And agree that there was just too much 'going on' in 3, if anything an extended version should be out there which fills out the story properly.
I still get goose bumps with the first Spidey swing through the city.
#16
I'd have liked to have seen more of venom in the 3rd one.

Agreed, a truly serious enemy.
That's a big bug bear i have. Killing off the enemies. Why do they feel the need to do that?
#18
Can anyone confirm that this is really just 1 disc as the Tesco site maintains?

Region: Region B
Aspect Ratio: Aspect Ratio 2.40:1
Number of Discs: 1

Seems like an awful lot of money for a single disc trilogy, and I have doubts about the quality if there really is just the one disc.

Thanks!

I don't think all the blame can be placed on studio interferance, though it was a huge part. Maguire and Dunst just seemed bored playing the characters, and it just wasn't well thought out. I'm sure Raimi had something to do with dancing Spidey!
#20
Had to send for this already have Spiderman 3 but could not resist at this price, thanks.
#21
Already have Spider-Man 3 on BD. However I just can't bring myself to buy this boxset, even at this bargain price, due to the complete lack of extras on the first two movies. The DVD's were jam packed with commentries, documentaries etc, so why have they been left off the BD's? I can only hope that somewhere down the line they will release the first two movies individually and with extra features. In the meantime I'll stick to my DVD's of Spider-Man 1 & 2.
#22
Good deal to get ALL 3! just ordered and will be enjoying them
#23
Great deal, ordered. Thanks. I think hotyoda spotted this first though: original spot so I think some rep for him is in order too.
#24
They're writing 4 now. It's due out in 2011 I think, but it could be 2010.
Kirsten is kinda ok, but I think she'd have been a better GTwen Stacey and Eliza Dushku is the perfect Mary Jane.

You can never place "ALL" the blame on something as big as an $800m+ grossing movie on any ONE thing, but you take the thing that affects it the most.

Dancing Parker is one of those things that you either love or hate, as is Peter's "staying alive" bit from Spidey 2. I know people who love and hate either of those or both; me I liked them, they were very "nerdy Parker” so worked for me. That's not something that makes a whole movie succeed or fail. Something like having to shoehorn an entirely new character into a film that was already having a lot to do to bring its plot threads and characters from the first two movies to a head. Hence you get venom just falling out of the sky next to Peter's scooter, no rhyme or reason to it, and basically getting in the way of the other plot lines. That's what drags the movie down a level from the other two. Classic studio error, the further along a comic book / sci-fi / action series goes the more they want to try and cram in so they can sell lots of toys before the moviegoers get sick of the "franchise".

I'm sure you're aware of Warner Brothers infamous “there must be a giant spiderbot for Superman to fight" debacle?

They wanted Venom, and didn't have the bottle to introduce him like they did Connors (yay the Lizard) bit by bit in the movie maybe, just maybe becoming Venom at the end of the 3rd movie, ready for a full scale role as Spidey villain in number 4. Hell Raimi even set up the whole space shuttle crash plotline in Spidey 2 by introducing Jameson's son the astronaut.

Still a fan of 3, even if it is the weakest it did manage to strain Parker and MJ's relationship and the Harry plotline was great through all 3 movies. I loved James Franco in that role, and he'll be sorely missed.

Half the problem is cgi, it takes so long to render. You either tie up the actors, a la LOTR, and put their careers on hold THEN do the cgi, or you cram as much stuff in with fewer films and shorter running times.
I liked 3, maybe it's the Spiderman in me that is thrilled that the franchise has been given a decent shot, i thought Sandman was excellent and a fitting tribute.

Which villains would you all like to see?
Mysterio?

You would have to hope for a Marvel crossover at some point.
#27
Well I'm looking for the flaming Lizard to turn up. Poor guy has been playing Doc Connors long enough let him be the Lizard!

You could make the next "trilogy" have another recurring plot line and start to have Spidey figting Orgnised crime, i.e the kingpin. Jus a lead here, a name drop there building up too the reveal that Kingpin is real, and o course hiring supervillains to get rid of Spidey? Shocker seems the most likely to fit for the Spiderman movieverse, but maybe Scorpion, the sinister 6, or whatever they were called.

Oneo of the saddest things is that Marvel's characters are spread out all over different studios. I think the only character Spidey could cross over with is Ghost Rider, as they're both at Sony. The x-men could meet the (amazingly awfull) movie fantastic four, as they are both FOX, as id Daredevil.

Crossoverwise It's all about 2010 - 2012! Ironman II will be out in 2010 and will have links to the other Marvel owned movie characters, Captain AMerica, Thor and more Incredible Hulk. Particularly through Nick Fury and Shield's "Avengers project".. EWe've seen ~Captain America's shield in Ironman, Captain America's body (weird but apparently true) in the , deleted, ice scene from Incredible hulk, as well as the super soldier serums from Captain America, again in the Incredible Hulk.

2011 sees the THOR movie AND the Captain America movie, which all comes to a head in 2012 with The Avengers" movie. with Thor, Cap, Ironman , Hulk (probably but possibly just HULK not Ed Norton's Banner) and possibly War Machine & Black Widow. Nick Fury will be there as well as Sam Jackson has an 11 picture deal for Fury at least 2 Iron men, 3 Avengersand Possibly a Nick Fury movie or 2.

just ordered! thx

Is this in store too?

The Tesco website says 1 disc, this is a misprint. The only version of Spiderman is a 4 disc set. This is Spiderman 1 & 2 on 1 disc each. and the 2 disc version of Spiderman 3.

Hope this clears up for anyone worried about purchasing.

Also I have the set and teh picture is absolutely stunning, whole city feels alive. Total bargain for any Spidey fan at this price.............

I always forget the different studios involved.

You missed off the Ant Man movie too ;-) There's also talk of Marvel Studios doing (another) reboot of the Fantastic Four movies too.
