haha they're idiots aren't they. Blu Ray is DESTROYING HD DVD.

There's no point in investing in any HD DVD Players or HD movies. Blu Ray has won already from what i see. And what everyone else see's

HD-DVD Players are a better buy than the blu-ray players.
or so i was advised by the tech staff at John Lewis

for one they said that they seemed to get alot more returned units (faulty) on the bluray (4:1 - that is for evry 4 bluray players that went faulty only one HD-DVD player want faulty)

both the HD-DVD player and the dvd's were a heck of a lot cheaper than the blu ray stuff - under half the cost on most players and usually a third cheaper for dvd movies

lastly and most importantly there is a lot of blu ray dvd movies in the USA and not so many in europe. Bluray being supported by sony have stuck a region restiction thing on bluray dvd players which means any blu ray dvd's you buy from the states WILL NOT WORK ON THE UK BLURAY DVD PLAYERS.

HD-DVD players do not have this restrictions so the bargain HD-DVDs that people are buying from the states (with the weak dollar) will be sublime :) l

Do you lot never give up. Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD, who cares.

You choose the format you want and then just get on with it. Stop trying to justify your purchase and try not to be led by shop staff.

Prices for HD-DVD discs and Blu-Ray seem comparable. Region encoding is inplace on SOME Blu-Ray discs, not all. I know as I've imported a few USA discs and they play fine.

Go and troll somewhere else.

As for the posted deal - HOT, HOT, HOT!

£9 a film. I'll pay that.

As for the playground arguments over the two formats, who cares.
I purchased both formats as there are films I love on both. I think they are both equally good and I'll buy the hi-def film I like at the cheapest price (i.e 300 was cheaper on HD-DVD from the states!).

The Monkey has spoken.

I think that the retail Spiderman 3 and boxset Spiderman 3 are the same, so maybe you could return the sealed version you get in the boxset?
