Good price if you can find this
#3
yep, 4 quid a blu-ray cant be bad!
#4
£30 in my local
#5
Looks like a misprice, or rather a mis-sticker. Hard to see but it says action DVD on the label and that price is about right for a DVD boxset...so unless anyone else has been able to get one elsewhere, it might well be very limited.
#6
Deffo misprice! Look at reciept! Says DVD.

yep plus receipt says dvd not blu or blu ray.

You're wrong, this was def £12 for the Blu ray set, plenty still in stock @ Andover. suggest you try ringing if you disbelieve :whistling:

So what if it says dvd?! Must a receipt say 'blu ray' to be valid? Jesus, some people....go ring the store up if you're that doubtful huh?

I need not waste my time. You obviously got it for this price, but just like the time I got 2 sweeny todd steelbook blu rays for £9 at hmv, its a one off mistake by staff.
#12
thanks OP,
for proof, but looks like 1 hit pony, I think you should buy them all. heehee

As said before, they may well have mistakenly put the stickers on the blu ray sets instead of the ordinary sets but their loss if so, still had half a dozen or more sets in Andover if anyones close by

Fair play to you. Great price :)
#15
looks like a misprice to me, but voted hot coz nerves of steel and good find...lol
#16
Hot if you like the movies, really cheap for Blu-Ray

EDIT: It looks like a single store misprice, priced as a DVD or DVD boxset. If you look at the receipt, and even the sticker on the box set. So I can't vote hot or cold until its confirmed at other stores
#17
I'd love to get the Spiderman films for £12 on Blu-ray. I'll check my local HMV later and will vote after that. :p
#18
Tesco were doing these about a year ago for £15, so this price isn't necessarily a misprice.
#19
Remember buying it for £15 @ Tesco, still haven't gotten round to watching them...
#20
Great deal for the OP and anyone near that store.

But I'm amazed it's gathered so much heat, considering it appears to be a one store misprice.

That said, keep up the good work OP, always better to post in case it is nationwide, or even for the benefit of people in your area.
#21
Yeah i got it at Tesco for £15 last year when i bought a ps3 and only paid £5 as had a £10 giftcard! The films look great on our PS3!

Quite right.

I got this for £17.99 anyway years ago from dvd.co.uk and great for any sub £20 price IMO.

If this was a miss-price surely when it was scanned at the till it would have come up at the normal price? Even if they had still sold it at £12 the receipt would have still had to reflect the original price and the discount?

Here is one potential walk-through of what happened...

The sticker on the item was the wrong sticker for that product.
The sticker was for the Spider-man DVD set (costing £12).
One of the staff at the Store put the sticker on the Blu-ray set by accident.
They may well have made the same mistake on a few more... just at this one Store.

When the stickered item was scanned at the till, the till rightly recognised the barcode as being that of the Spider-man DVD set.

The till reported £12.00 to the operator.
The operator charged the customer £12.00
The till printed a receipt for a Spider-man DVD set costing £12.00.

The customer walked out with the Spider-man Blu-ray set still with the wrong label on it.

Great post. Gotta be worth some rep. And heat for the deal; even though it wasn't available at this price in my local HMV.

Thanks... but no "rep" was necessary.

There is an issue with the current voting/listing system where a mis-priced item (or an end of line offer in a single Store) can receive a great deal of "heat" & push other 'valid' deals down from the viewing public's eyes even though there has only ever been one (or a small number) of products available at the quoted price, possibly in one (or very few Stores).

I have not voted yet. If I visit a HMV Store in the next few days & find the product on the shelves for this price then I will certainly vote "hot".

However, if the price is higher than £12 I will not vote at all as, in contrast, this isn't a "cold" deal because I cannot buy it for the price suggested. I may well be able to pay £12 in HMV in Andover... but I am not in Andover. The fact it will cost me at least £60 to get to Andover & back is not the issue either.

It just isn't a "hot" deal to me. To Andover residents yes; to me, no.

If anybody visits the Andover HMV though, and finds you can no longer buy the item for £12 then this thread should be marked as "Expired".

The opening description should also state the Store(s) in which this offer applies.

So far, unless anybody knows otherwise, it is just applicable to one Store.

I'll go to Andover tomorrow and confirm this. Definately not this price in the HMV in Salisbury 20 miles away. Misprice ahoy.

I just love this time of year - temp staff in HMV. Quality, man!
#31
nice one whizz kid! it puts you off posting deals sometimes the grief you get eh? it makes me think twice!

£30 in Yeovil, DVD set was £12.

A lucky misprice i think.
#33
This is not a deal. It's a misprice - someone has made a cock-up, not HMV Andover have decided to flog Spiderman Trilogy Blu Ray @ 12quid. Voted cold.

Did you manage to come up with that all by yourself or was it a collaboration?:)

No, I looked back through your other 57 comments since December 2008 & did not find anything worth using, so I wrote it myself.

Thanks for caring enough to reply though.
