I don't expect there are too many HUKD users who are familiar with this band. But they are just the best. This was only released a few months ago and is a fantastic bargain.

The music is a kind of cross between drug induced space rock with gospel choirs. Amazing!!

Give some of us HUKDers some credit, some of us are actually knowledgeable about music, rather than fitting into the normal Tesco Top 20 buyers demographic.

Hot Deal.

Hey Killing Joke as well. Wouldn't mind riffling through your CD collection.

I kinda put that quote to help reduce the cold voters. You know...theones who will go "Spiritualized??? Who are they??? Never heard of them so it must be cold". You know the type.

If you have Soulseek, send me a PM

Yes, the type that watched Take That on X Factor last week, and the new album out monday heavily reduced in price to fit in with the 20, 30 and 40 somethings weekly shopping of which Take That happen to craftily cater for in time with a Xmas release, the record company have a cream dream, ;-)

I agree about "Ladies and Gentlemen we are floating in space". Played that album to death. So many stand out tracks.

This really is a bargain. I'd love the special edition, it's so cool with all the different syringes and pills that Pearce had put in him while in hospital.

Jason pearce truely is a god for being behind this band. Ladies and Gentlemen, what a f*cking album!

anyone want to recommend some of their best songs? Songs that give me an idea of what they are like?

Cheers

Pretty much anything from the album "Ladies and Gentlemen we are floating in space" My farourites off that album are - Come Together; Cop shoot Cop; I think I'm in love. But the whole album is amazing.
Check this link out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladies_and_Gentlemen_We_Are_Floating_in_Space
And this one - http://uk.youtube.com/results?search_query=spiritualized&search_type=&aq=f
And enjoy your conversion

In reference to Ladies and Gentlemen its a shame the Elvis version of the lead track wasnt cleared for an official release.
The Elvis version is even more moving.

Thanks, another huge Spiritualized fan here.

album wise gentlemen we are floating in space is a great album but i prefer electric mainline ive go the glow in the dark cd cover,or go back to the source with spacemen 3 walkin with jesus great track.
#21
Love 'em. But they still haven't topped Lazer Guided Melodies yet......in my opinion. If you like this, check out Spacemen 3, but I'm sure you all have already.
I'll add this one to my collection. Thanks.

Ahh, reminisce, reminisce. Wonderful. Think I'll go and stick some on.

Excellent album & great price, about the same as a CD single would set you back instore at HMV!! :)
#25
loved "ladies & gentlemen" and "let it come down" but was a bit disappointed with the garage-rock style of the last album. is this one better than the last?
#26
Are they a Christian band, sounds interesting, I love Delirious myself, good stuff.
#27
Fantastic bargain - fantastic band.

For the Spiritualized novice I'd recommend the first album Lazer Guided Melodies. Ladies & Gentlemen ... is a great album but has too much white noise and 'free jazz' which can be very offputting for the casual listener. LGM has always been my favourite but Songs in A&E is excellant - especially 'Sweet Talk'. You can't go wrong for this price. Voted hot

Oh and no - they're not a Chrstian band, despite extensive use of gospel choirs, a great song called 'Walking with Jesus', and lyrics which frequently refer to 'Lord'. Don'tbe buying this expecting to hear a rock version of 'Kumbaya My Lord'!!

Hmmmmmm.......think if christians were drug addicted rock gospel musicians with a bitter view on life and a bit of a snarl to back up the sometime sweet melodies

#33
voted hot. recent union chapel gig was immense, while not the best album its a very good deal

Still listen to spacemen3 a fair bit, and one of my fave covers is the early spiritualised cover of the troggs?
