I was in Morrisons in Ross on Wye today.

I spotted Spitfire Ale at £1 a bottle. I bought 4 plus 2 bottle of another ale.

My receipt showed a 98p discount so it seems they have the Spitfire in the "4 for £5" deal and decided I was worthy of an extra discount. My six bottles worked out at 93p each!

I'm drinking a bottle of 660ml Budweiser. Cost me £2 at my local off-license which isn't a bad price but yours is better. ;-)

If we are doing the Shepherd Neame meme, then this evening I drank 2 bottles of Bishop's Finger. Only a weedy 5.4% but very pleasant.

Lidl have it on their 5 for 4 promo. Not as cheap as the Morrisons deal but works out at about £1.20 per half litre, which is still a reasonable price.

The golden rule with ale is it's gotta be over 5% or it tastes rubbish, so this stuff is fine. I had a bottle of this a few months ago. It was actually a good beer. Not for everybody, but heat add as you can't go wrong for £1.

I drink a lot of this sort of stuff. Morrisons usually have an offer (it may be permanent actually) on the cheaper bottles of ale of 4 bottles for £5. Just a shame Morrison's selection of real ale doesn't branch far away from the beers with comedy names, instead of more established and favoured brewers.

Nothing wrong with 5.4%...Stronger than nearly every lager available! I also swear real ale hits you harder than standard lager and bitters, regardless of the alcohol percentage.

For real ales in Morrisons you're better off on the permanent 4 for £5 offer on their range of £1.49 beers. I usually get 2 Hopback Summer Lightnings and 2 Springhead Roaring Megs - superb if you like your ale strong, pale and hoppy!

Although the spitfire is on offer for £1 they are still including it in the 4 for £5 pounds offer. So they take off an extra 96p making it £3.04 which is 76p a bottle so even better deal!
Heat and rep added!
