Just saw this on Zavvi and thought it is a good deal especially if it turns out to be HD remastered like the God of War 1 and 2 on PS3 which it look like it will be :-)

Cant wait for Team Ico collection
#7
Me either, i loved ico but never got around to playing shadow of coloosus, so this is ideal. Just a shame it's not out until 2011.
#8
Surely there'll be a MGS 1/2/3 collection in the making if all these are. Bit strange to see Splinter Cell in here though since I thought it was a M$ exclusive.

I wanna see a GTA collection of GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas.
#10
No 360 versions??
#11
They should do this with the old Tony Hawks games. I bought 3 and 4 off eBay on a whim and they're still great.

Unfortunately thats unlikely due to them being available on PC :/

They're also in the process of porting all 3 over to Mac OSX as well.

this is for the ps3 only because its the best!! cant wait....heat

The reason there are no xbox version is because Sony have a classic collection now. Basically they want developers to remake there old PS2/PS1 classics into a HD PS3 game. God Of War Collection was a big hit. The Sly Collection seems to be hyped. The COD Classic was a big hit. Am guessing the Medal Of Honour remake will be a hit. I hope they make a remake of MGS1/2 and 3.
#18
so which splinter cells will it be? the first three?
#19
Why add PS2 backwards compatibility software update when you can just upscale the textures and re-release on PS3.
Seriously though, the God of War Collection was great. I can't wait to finally play Ico and Shadow of the Colossus
#20
Team Ico....one of the reasons I bought a PS3, with the cost of Ico and Shadow Of The Colossus second hand on the PS2, this double pack is going to be great.

Roll on next year when "The Last Guardian" is released.

Nintendo do it all the time too, or rehash old games...money spinning. With the likes of Ico and Shadow Of The Colossus for the PS2 fetching high amounts second hand though, that to me is a deal.

And also not forgetting that Santa Monica studios and Team Ico only develop for Sony, as they are owned by Sony, and you will only see their games on Sony Consoles.

I still think Ico is one of my top 5 games, amazing stuff but I follow games a lot and while I recall a rumour about POP I don't recall ever seeing anything about a Splinter Cell collection, Either Zavvi know something I don't or they're just trying to get some pre orders just im case,

Splinter Cell is a game though by Ubisoft, it is not exclusive to the Xbox. Only one so far that has not been released on a Sony Console is the latest "Conviction", historically linked with Microsoft, Ubisoft has stated there is a link of heart to Microsoft, but Microsoft certainly don't own Ubisoft.

It certainly isn't quite the same as with Bungie whereby although the company is not owned anymore by Microsoft, but the Halo franchise is, and Halo Reach will be the last of that franchise.

It is important for Microsoft now to concentrate on Rare Studios, which is a subsidary of Microsoft, to provide decent exclusives.

Have any of these HD remakes even been announced, other than the Ico/SotC one?
#26
£35 for the original Mortal Kombat in HD is surely one of the worst deals to ever appear on this site.
#27
I thought that the Team Ico collection was going to have a circa £25 price point......?

They go for about £20-£30 each on eBay, depending on condition.

So alot of people were correct and Sony removed PS2 backwards compatability because they want people to buy their games again, no suprise.

What's that got to do with anything?

£25 for thee games, £30 for two games, and £35 for one!

Something's wrong with deal.
#33
It speaks volumes about the PS3 that I'm mor eexcited about PS2 re-releases than I am about any PS3 game.
#34
GOW:C was brilliant, i hope the SC one is too, deffo going to get this if it has platinums!
#35
These really are great times for PS3 owners. I have an xbox as well, but it seems to be Sony winning the console war right now. With Valve now on board, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Left 4 Dead game on PS3 in the near future too.

Regarding Mortal Kombat HD - I suspect this will be an anthology of MK titles (or maybe a PSOne MK Trilogy remake) rather than just a prettier version of the first game. And I'm very sure the sale price will come down - if not by release date then very soon after.
#36
iirc the first Splinter Cell came out on Xbox, then later on PS2 and Gamecube, maybe just temporary exclusivity like some GTAs were?

Also, here's hoping for remade Jak & Daxter and Ratchet.
#37
Unlike the other HD re-releases (even higher resolution can already be achieved via emulation on PCSX2), Mortal Kombat HD is actually a fairly ambitious project.
As it was sprite based they have to draft in actors and reshoot the whole thing.

I actually thought it was going to be a premium XBL/PSN release, £34.99 is far too expensive.

I already have 1 & 3 on PS2 but I'm tempted to pick up the Splinter cell triliogy! I've heard good things about the old Prince of Persias so will pick them up too. +heat

How do you know they still don't have original high res photos from when they made the original?
