Spray foam insulation in a two part kit forming an expanding closed cell polyurethane foam that is suitable for use by trade professionals and DIY enthusiasts. For loft insulation simply spray the foam on the underside of the roof tiles to insulate the roof and to seal against tile slippage.
The spray on expanding foam insulation is designed as an insulating sealant for air leakage control for the insulation of cavities and joints within the envelope of a building. The foam is suitable for upgrading thermal performance by insulating roofs walls and floors in barn renovations or cellar conversions, reducing condensation and heat loss. This versatile spray foam insulation material seals insulates and a variety of structures made from metal, wood, bricks, concrete and slate to name just a few.

Spray-on foam expands fully within 30 - 50 seconds and is tack-free (not sticky to the touch) within 60 seconds. It is hard enough to cut in 2 - 5 minutes and has completely cured within one hour.

This formulation is best suited for spraying onto walls and roofs where the foam is required to stick and cure quickly rather than drip off. Spray-on foam will not drip if applied in thicknesses of up to 1 inch per pass.

If you have the full kit it comes in @ £495 and the gun etc are for keeps. For this square metre coverage this is a great deal.

so this is just for in lofts or for filling cavity walls? seems quite pricey would it not be the same money to get someone in to do it.

this particular 1 is for lofts but they do cavity walls also, at first glance it seems expensive but this creates an air tight gap around anything, no cutting boards (that cost £25) and trying to seal the gap, this expands and fills every gap it touches. Not only will it insulate and seal the gaps but also increases stability by 300%. Once set it can be cut and plastered over. Bear in mind the offer above is for 58 square metres, you may need less.

I need 120 sq/m to do my cavity walls and have been quoted 272 with a government grant, which is a lot cheaper

272 for spray foam insulation is good, government grant admittedly but not everybody or area is entitled to the grant.

true it was 692 without the grant which is still cheaper and i don't have to do anything though

are they using spray foam insulation tho? I have looked in to it and the government grants dont always cover spray foam, they use a fibre insulation. Plus they dont paint the outside of the house once they have drilled the 50 holes in it to get the insulation in.
