This is a giant killer bit of proper HiFi that should hold its own against some very high end kit. Or for more modest systems this is a very flexible and versatile bit of kit that can be used in many configurations.

Internet radio
Support for MP3, Ogg Vorbis, RealAudio, and WMA formatted Internet Radio streams

well avi/divx/mp4/mkv etc.etc......
with air video cost £1.79 for the app on app store, you also install it on your vista or xp computer for free. tell the software what folder to share, Then just add the server to your iphone
do need to look for an app to stream music
iknow the iphones are alot more expensive than this but if you already have one then this is great
I have the DIYEDEN (now called Musiland) SVDAC06 which I managed to pick up for £85 inlcuding postage from here last year (it costs a lot more elsewhere but for some reason they sell this model much cheaper). This thing will rival most cd players for sound up to £2000.

Add yourself a class D tri-path amplifier (find online reviews of the Trends Audio amp for example) for about the same price and you've got a system that no one else you know will be able to match. I replaced my £3000 cd player and amp combo for a Chinese made DAC and Tri-Path Amp that cost £150 and feed music from my laptop or ps3 and it's better.
Try it yourself and you won't look back.
Brings it down to 1,200 GBP which is just about 1,999 USD. Reasonable, since it is usually overpriced when brought over here.
Easy to set up, great sound and access to 8 million songs on Napster for a £5er a month - bargain
I bought a Squeezebox Boom a few months ago then purchased a Duet system with the very expensive colour controller and have just about got everything working well but there is quite a learning curve. Plug and Play it ain't. If you can invest the time setting it up, sorting out the Squeezebox software and adding all the applications it will revolutionize your music and listening habits.
I have mine running through a DacMagic2 connected to cheapy Tannoy M2 speakers and the sound is superb. Nice warm sound, no trashy harsh noises and the ability to navigate internet music stations, your own music collection or podcasts with the ease of the Ipod style scroll wheel.
I think if people understood these devices better and what they could do for your music enjoyment they'd never look back.
Logitech have great customer support for these things as well.
Only till end of this month

the £169 version gets you DAB + FM Radio + Wireless and Wired access, you don't need additional software running on your PC to access your music files either.

Nice, but wireless only and i use wired, so not so great for me. Have squeezebox 3, great bit of kit, just wish you could get a proper instant on mini box to run the server component.
I think you can plug a usb drive direct into the Squeezebox Touch if i have that right.
Good price though, and would recommend anyone to get one who does not own a Squeezebox already as they are awesome bits of kit.
