Looks good as British Gas now charge me a fortune compared to their new customers. Unfortunately SSE state they do not provide such services in my area.

Try this it will work out just under £12 a month

Boiler breakdown standard package selecting zero excess £14.70 a month but £33.30 TCB
So about £11.92.

I took a boiler cover out with them at the start of December (£77 cashback tracked with Quidco).

I've received the welcome letter/pack, and had confirmation about the direct debit, but they are supposed to be getting in touch to arrange carrying out an initial boiler inspection to ensure they can/will cover our boiler (assume to check its not broken down already and/or ancient), but so far heard nothing else back.

Thing is, they say not to cancel any existing boiler cover until they've done the inspection, so I may currently have two covers running. I may need to chase them on it.

Homeserve is £9 for first year for new customers but if you cancel after a year, you can take the cover out again online for the same price, includes plumbing drainage and water supply pipe.

Sorry didn't realise this thread was for boiler cover, anyway useful for anyone thinking of getting the additional cover

With any of these products, check the boiler age limit, check the maximum claim amount and check the excess.

I work in Home Services and would definitely advise you to chase up the initial inspection I've seen it occasionally where someone has been missed for it and not realised.

Thanks for that. Have just rang them, and they are coming out saturday to do the initial inspection.

Does this cover the hot water storage cylinder? I'm tempted at this price!

Yes I've got cover with these and got one.

They did put it up about 10% at renewal mind but offered 3 months free again after complaining.

I had to chase them for an initial inspection also.
