Yes same guitar (different colour) but it's cheaper which makes it a different deal.

Seems from the reviews that it's a good guitar for the price and a good way for kids to see if they take to it before spending lots of money.

If you follow the link from the other thread to the ebuyer site it's now £42. not £36, hence why this one is cheaper and the better current deal.

The amp is deffo not worth £37 on its own. Very rough and ready practice amp. Looks like it was made in the former Soviet Union. Bits peeling off and misaligned right out of the box.

I bought one of these for a laugh. The guitar is playable, but I got a warped neck and no faffing about with the truss rod is going straighten it, so it's left with a high action and a useless lower half of the fretboard with all notes from the 12th fret down sounding identical. The machine heads are pretty poor, so it goes out of tune easily and all the time, even when playing.

Apart from that, it's ok.

or £4 from ebay

Hmmm... if the amp alone is not worth £37 (thanks spraint) I wonder if I can pick one up for a similar price?
#15
Just bought the flying V for my left handed lad,and if it manages to keep him off CounterStrike Source for a few hours every day this'll be a much happier household.
#16
bought this for my daughter and she loves it - even takes it to her music lesson... the thing is they have exactly the same guitar and are selling it for £90 on its own!!!
#17
does this take standard headphones or the large plug ones?

It takes the large plug ones aka a jack.

I'll concur what has already been said in that this is a nice guitar. I bought a bunch to sell on and have the blue one for myself. I also have a Squier strat., which feels a little nicer, but all the main parts of this guitar, i.e. its tuning and action are very favourable. For younger players it has the bonus that it's a little lighter than a Squier so makes it a little more wieldy for the wee folk.

For £37ish, it's a remarkable bargain, and what I've noticed with ebuyer is that when demand for these items goes up, as has happened today, their stock system automatically increases the prices. So I'd buy now while you can!

Does this come with a cable and plectrum? If not then don't forget to get them.

I really think you would struggle to get a new Marshall for anywhere near that - unless you have a link to what would be the bargain of the century nay Millenium:-)

New on here and pretty new to buying on the net.... Have just ordered this and received no confirmation email. Rang and was told that they are performing random security checks on my account, and the order will not be processed or acknowledged until their checks are done - then I will receive an email and the money will be taken etc, but may take a few days. Does that sound right? Have never used ebuyer before so now a little worried....

Thanks for any advice...

Pah. You can get a Marshall MIcro Amp for under twenty notes these days. You can get Yamaha and Peavey practice amps for the same price as this guitar kit.

Here's a budget musical instrument dealer. Check its range and those of your local shops:

As for the Stage, it's not the best quality ever ,but you get a lot for your money. Bargain basement Encores and no name guitars in pretty poor condition will set you back more at the likes of Cash Converters. It's very much a fun buy.

The micro amp isn't really an amp - it is a pocket sized piece of plastic (tthat you fasten to your belt - trendy!) with a tin can inside that 'amplifies' the sound to a massive 2 watts! It's a toy nothing more. You could play it under your quilt and no one would know you were there.

#33

LOL, who cares? It's a Marshall. Bragging rights for the impecunious.

PS. This is why I pointed out the other budget practice amps available from major names. You can also get the Marshall equivalent (15W) to the Stage amp for about £52 from GAK, but that is more than the entire Stage outfit. If you can live with 10W, then under £45.
