To avoid pebble-dashing the bathroom due to suffering from food poisoning, cook your joint of meat to absolute perfection with one of these simple meat thermometers.
No more trying to work out how many hours in the oven per kg of meat, simply place the spike probe into the thickest part of the meat, cook at the required temperature and wait for the pointer to indicate your meat is done.
Spotted these for £2 instore at asda. Bargain.

Mine has a different dial (which I prefer)
Bought it for the same price just before Christmas to avoid any turkey related bowel trauma. It worked!
Avoid immersing it in water when you wash it. It's not watertight.
Definitley worth £2 for peace of mind.
