Standing in Another Man's Grave (Inspector Rebus Book 18)
REBUS IS BACK.
The superb No.1 bestseller from 'Britain's best crime novelist' EXPRESS

A series of seemingly random disappearances - stretching back to the millennium.
A mother determined to find the truth.
A retired cop desperate to get his old life back...

It's been some time since Rebus was forced to retire, and he now works as a civilian in a cold-case unit. So when a long-dead case bursts back to life, he can't resist the opportunity to get his feet under the CID desk once more. But Rebus is as stubborn and anarchic as ever, and he quickly finds himself in deep with pretty much everyone, including DI Siobhan Clarke.

All Rebus wants to do is uncover the truth. The big question is: can he be the man he once was and still stay on the right side of the law?

Exit Music (Inspector Rebus Book 17) by Ian Rankin Kindle Book 0.99 @ Amazon.
A brilliant Rebus novel from the master of British crime.

It's late autumn in Edinburgh and late autumn in the career of Detective Inspector Rebus. As he tries to tie up some loose ends before retirement, a murder case intrudes. A dissident Russian poet has been found dead in what looks like a mugging gone wrong. By apparent coincidence, a delegation of Russian businessmen is in town - and everyone is determined that the case should be closed quickly and clinically.

But the further they dig, the more Rebus and DS Siobhan Clarke become convinced that they are dealing with something more than a random attack - especially after a particularly nasty second killing. Meanwhile, a brutal and premeditated assault on a local gangster sees Rebus in the frame. Has the Inspector taken a step too far in tying up those loose ends? Only a few days shy of the end to his long, inglorious career, will Rebus even make it that far?

You are most welcome...must admit I know exactly what you mean about space for books...think I could now open my own library with all the books I have in my house...think you know you really do have too many when you're starting to conceal them under beds, units or any other piece of furniture you can slide a few under...lol...
