I posted a B&Q deal yesterday for a Stanley waterproof toolbox and someone commented they had bought it cheaper at Focus last week. I went to check this out and couldn't actually find the same product (which means if you want a waterproof toolbox the B&Q deal is still pretty good :-)

However, Focus do stock the splashproof "Professional" series, and when I checked the price at the till I was rather pleasantly surprised to be told £10..... Since this is £30+ in most other stores I bit their hand off(!) I think it was £29.99 on the shelf ticket.

Doesn't seem to be on their website, but specs (from another site) are -

FWIW the waterproof toolbox deal I mentioned is for a Stanley Fatmax 23". It's £20 at B&Q. Obviously a bit smaller and a bit more expensive, but has the benefit of being waterproof (IP53), rather than just splashproof.

I'd still want some tools with it for a tenner.

I don't think this is a mis-price, as I also got this toolbox for £10 last summer from Focus in their clearance. These are probably old stock they never got round to clearing.

As for the tool box, its good and solid, especially the full width handle, but the problem I have with it is that the lid won't stay open and crashes down on your hand when rummaging for stuff....that aside it's still excellent value at £10.

I agree with you about the lid - not this box's finest feature(!) I suspect that after it has had some abuse it might open a bit further and then stay open better?

Regards the price, well the shelf ticket was definitely in the £30 region and that is the same price as most of the on-line suppliers - typically in the £22 region + vat + delivery. I agree with you about it probably being old stock. This box doesn't currently seem to be on the Stanley website so I doubt it's a recent item. Whatever, £10 is a cracking price.
