The site says they were £9.99 but the email I got from screwfix states these were £19.99. To avoid postage costs I bought some from my local store and the assistant checked with the manager as he thought it was priced wrong. No they're not.

It's a nice spot - shame that Stanley tool quality has gone completely down the pan. £7 is ok I suppose, I certainly wouldn't pay £20 for Stanley now. I've bought Draper - no problems - and Screwfix's 'own' brand, Forge Steel which are ok - not the best in the world, but ok.

Good of you to post!

Thanks Sybarite. It's only my second post.

I bought this set from screwfix when it was £9.99 and thought they were shockingly poor, so I returned them straight away. Also, If you look the description, you actually only get 2 blade widths of slotted screwdriver 5mm & 6.5 (but lots of them) and 2 sizes of phillips.

Stanley used to mean quality , not anymore , complete rubbish .

Thats a shame, i have loads of stanley tools from my granddad and dadand the are still going strong.

Such a shame when a good name goes bad.

So who makes good tools then?

not bad, no doubt B&Q will do this set aswell both same comapny kingfisher group.

If so B&Q do price match get it at £6.84 then further competitor 10% discount.

Only the Stanley fatmax range is any good. Their bottom of the range stuff like these screwdrivers are naff. I bought a 5m fatmax tape measure which is extremely well made.
Good stocking filler I suppose. Voted hot as they are better than Forge Steel have to offer!

Teng Tools are good too!!

I bought these as an impulse buy while buying other items that I really wanted.

They're rubbish really and were never worth the original £20. The cross head drivers are all Phillips and not Pozidrive and so also of limited use.

Don't touch them and but some quality tools.

PS. Screwfix quality is very good for some of their budget tools, eg the Erbuaer stuff, but these screwdrivers are more like car boot quality.

Britool - Spiralux - Snap-on - Teng - King Dick - Sykes Pickervant

All good hand tool makers. I've got Stanley socket sets that are 20 years old and they're very good but would think twice these days.

Off topic, I know, but it's amazing how many people don't know the difference, and end up trashing the fastener or the 'driver.

Does anybody know where B&Q's price match policy is on their website or who they will match with??

I bought these a few months back when they was a tenner. As already said there are no pozidrive screwdrivers in the set., only philips. Also the handles feel cheap and light and at least four of the drivers are doubles. The best thing about it is the six piece mini screwdiver set.

Thanks for the feedback on this set! - My dad wanted some screwdrivers for Christmas, I was ready to buy but I think i'll try and find some fatmax ones now or something.

Check out the price of these now as they are now showing a price of £4.88 on screwfix web site.

At that price they are a real bargain especially for Stanley product:thumbsup:
