Manufacturer's Description
Cushion grip screwdriver set with corrosion resistant, high grade chrome plated steel bars - reduces the chance of tip breakage.

Large diameter soft-grip handles with smooth domed end for excellent torque, fast spinning action and comfort in use. Tip identification in the handle to match the right screwdriver to screw type.

Magnetic tips for easy pick-up and screw location.

The Stanley 065011 is an 8 piece set of cushion grip screwdrivers. All the screwdrivers are corrosion resistant with high grade chrome plated steel bars for added strength and durability. This reduces the chance of tip breakage giving them a longer operation life, unlike some other screwdrivers in this class.

The screwdrivers in this Stanley 065011 screwdriver set have been designed with large diameter soft-grip handles with smooth domed ends. This provides excellent torque and gives you a faster spinning action to complete screwdriving application quickly and efficiently, with all the comfort you need.

Stanley have also introduced to their range of cushion grip screwdrivers, the tip identification mark in the handle for quick and easy visibility. This will help the user to match the right screwdriver to the right screw type so not to damage screw ends.

Magnetic tips on these Stanley screwdrivers makes pick-up and screw location quick and easy.

Hmm. Screwdrivers are so cheap these days and brands like Stanley aren't what they used to be. Is this really a such good deal? Not voting, just wondering.

£25+ sounds like nonsense anyway.

that's a fair comment but they do get good user reviews.

A few retailers are selling this at £9.99, but the thing that wins it for Amazon is free delivery; other than that, £9.99 is the going rate. I've not voted either way.

only philips - no pozidrives included - voted cold.

Not sure if the above link is working. Just search amazon for Draper 09548 and you'll find em.
John.

I second this.... You can find the Draper 09548, 19 piece set for £12.63 delivered. That is 66 pence per piece. Out of stock at the moment but order-able and delivered when in stock.

Isn't the Asda one Draper? I know I bought an 8 piece set from there for about £8-10 a few months ago.

....and the pozi's rounded off quite quickly too.

That's because you where using a Phillips screwdriver, not a Pozidriv! You made the classic DIYer mistake. Just because they are both cross-shaped does not mean they are the same. Phillips and Pozidriv are different and although a Phillips screwdriver will turn a Pozidriv screw at low torque, the Phillips screwdriver will cam out as torque increases. Hence it slips, hence it "rounded off".

I suggest you need both Phillips and Pozidriv in your toolbox, although in my experience Pozi is the most popular. I only see Phillips in low torque applications such as case screws for electrical products (dvd players etc.)

Agreed that there are no PZ only PH and that seems to be true for many of the sets sold here. It's therefore not surprising that @Johnatcastle reported the PZ as rounding off quickly as there are no PZ drivers and so he's been using a screwdriver that is completely the wrong shape and size.

As to the set at ASDA for £7, the same thing is true of that set (and the loose drivers that they were selling) PH only, no PZ.

The reason that all of this is relevant is that **most** cross-head screws in use in the UK/Europe are now PZ and have been for quite some time. The biggest users of the old-style PH are the Yanks but that's not surprising as they are still struggling to understand decimals.

Overall not a bad price if you *really need* the PH drivers but if you don't then this is, regrettably, poor value for money - not voted.

Not sure why this is so hot, Halfords repeatedly sell an 8 piece "professional" screwdriver set for £9.99 and they come with a lifetime guarantee.

An OK, deal, but not roasting hot. Stanley seem to have gone down the road in recent years of rebranding cheaper tools as their own. That is not to say the tools are rubbish, but the exacting quality you used to get from stanley doesnt seem to be there anymore.....
