really useful large strong cardboard boxes are free in tescos.........had bananas in them...available in a cage near the fruit aisle....
But don't they have big holes in the bottom of them ?
You use the brown paper inside the box once you have removed the plastic bag......it's not rocket science.
(the bananas dont fall out of the hole do they?)

Agreed, Panddda, I've never been one to dive in on the first thing I find or the cheapest. Always best to do your homework first. Re-filling the original toners yourself is another option too.

I agree about refilling yourself. But it isn't usually a job for the faint-hearted or novice.

I've had the 3150CDW (Colour Duplex Wireless) for over a year now from Currys on offer at £129 & it's been faultless. I'm only now having to replace toners. Trying to work out alternative cheaper non-Brother cartridges.
The 3140CW I assume is not duplex. But still seems a good deal to me. Heat added
Really? Literally 10 second look on ebay produced these for £26.99 with free delivery. Or is there something I'm mising here?http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/H8YAAOSwHoFXv-K8/s-l1600.jpg

Yeah, I've done that, but a recommendation would be better than just going for the cheapest, and I've not had time to trawl through Amazon reviews, so anybody who's already had a good set and is prepared to take 20 seconds to recommend them would be a saint! Have you used these ones yourself? If so and they're ok then I'll give them a whirl!

If you have any success with the toners, please do let me know! I'm loving the printer so far, simplest wireless printer I've ever had to set up and although the print quality is fairly average, the ease of use is great and it's more than adequate for printing travel docs, kids homework etc. Planning on having a spare set of toners waiting but not worked them out yet!

It did come the next day, but the quality was *horrible* flimsy fan and one of the hinges were very bent so it wouldnt close. Also claims to have 4 modes but mode 3 is basically mode 4 and barely any difference. And am refunding it.

Ordered this yesterday and received the item today. Have it scheduled to be returned tomorrow.

There were minor issues which were expected with something so cheap like wonky base and one feet that wouldn't clip onto the base properly. However, there was also a problem with the head and switch unit being loose and the whole thing rattled when turned on. I'm not sure if this is a testament to the quality or if I had received a faulty unit. There was one screw that would just turn without tightening so it probably caused this. Did anyone else experience this or something similar?

I don't know what people see in fans. They don't actually provide cooling they just move the heat around the room. Plus you add whatever extra heat from the fan motor. I think you have two choices, just put up with the heat or get a proper portable air con with an exhaust out of the window.

I'm in my home office right now. Fan on, I feel cool. Fan off, I get hot. That's what I see in a fan.

This printer was actually £90 on Staples a few months ago. I missed out on it because my father wouldn't make his mind up whether he wanted one as well. The reason I waited on him was because they only do free delivery to NI on orders over £150, otherwise the delivery cost was £50. Normally I would blacklist a company which rips NI customers off on delivery charges while using the extortionate delivery prices to subsidise "free" delivery to "mainland UK" customers. But the price for this printer would've made it too good to resist. In the end, my dad hmm'd and haa'd until it went back up to full price. Needless to say, I'll not be buying one from Staples now.

Use code 299000065 for a tenner off for £149. Ive been thinking for a while on this one. Brother seeming to be one of the cheapest to run and OK for a light user like me who just doesnt want my ink drying out all the bloody time.
Is ink drying out still a worry with inkjets?
Well I'm not exactly up to date. Mine is probably nearly 15 yrs old so whenever it's not used for a few weeks it's rubbish and needs cleaning etc.
Maybe new models are better designed at keeping the ink and cartridges from drying?

That's what I was wondering. It used to be that inkjets were cheap to buy, but costly to run and lasers the opposite, but now it seems to be completely mixed up...

I'd rather have the cheaper tw5300 for home use
Why? What relevance does it have to this deal?
because if someone was looking for a decent 3lcd projector they might see this and think oh that looks good, giving an alternative that's cheaper, better resolution and with great reviews will give more options. this is after all a forum where people are allowed to give their opinion.
I don't understand why your personal taste and buying decision is relevant to this particular product? It seems to me that you have a lower budget and so have gone for something less expensive, which is fine, it's just not relevant to everyone else. Money is not the only deciding factor in many people's buying choices.

are you having a laugh? you posted a deal for an Epson projector. I replied with what is in my opinion a better projector by the same manufacturer for less money. which in turn makes your deal cold. A deal must be compared with other products when deciding if it's a good deal or not.

looking at the other comments and the heat of your deal I am not the only person that thinks this is not a good deal.

I just got the eh-tw5300 it's amazing I did have a eb-w28 3000 lumens but the quality with the new one is amazing I will just shut the curtains in the day but find it is ok anyway. using a computer to watch films I wouldn't get anything other than 1080p native though and Windows looks rubbish on a xga projector

Seconding that, 1024x768 resolution on this. Puts it firmly in the cheap business class. The only remotely special thing here is the brightness of 2600 lumens, but then my optoma hd141x beats that, costs less, and comes in at 1080p so would be better for home use.
I had the same optoma, it's lack of real brightness was why I upgraded to this beauty. Got fed up with not being able to watch things in the day without shutting the curtains on my floor to ceiling windows.

Be aware i just bought two different Staples chairs to replace two of these exact chairs which i had bought from Tesco sometime ago. They had a different name but the design is completely identical:

Tesco Model (with arms on wrong way round)

Note the warranty on this Staples model, just 1 year compared to 3-5 years on others. Both of my identical model Tesco chairs died within a year of moderate-heavy use (i'm 100kg, weight limit 110kg), for light use this chair may be fine but not if you are going to sit in it all day every day.

You actually get a 3 year warranty on all Staples own-brand products. they just keep that quiet so you buy their care plans
Ordered.

Is this the best value for money from their selection? I'd like something that forces a good posture by making it difficult to slouch.

You can slouch on this.
If you want to sort your back out get one of those chairs without a "back". Not exactly comfortable but they work if you sit on them as directed.

This chair is ok, feels better than it is when you first get it. For all its gimmicky ergonomic marketing, it doesn't really work.

I think they're called a "stool".

I almost ordered one until I read in the comments that the back isn't adjustable. I have a herniated disc in my back so I can't use chairs that sit upright for long periods of time. If you plan on using a chair for more than an hour at a time I suggest going for something with an adjustable back and sit at 135 degrees. Your back will thank you.

I have this one, looks similar but the back does go back on this one, TBH I had a mesh one before hand and I think I preffered that one over this.
That's the exact one I have, in blue. Got it for around £50 and it came via the UK I assume, as it arrived quickly.

Mine came with a big scratch on the seat and they have none left to replace it.

Mine came in a box that had fallen apart and been patched up with tape. Everything there was new, and clearly not ex-demo, but had been piled in the box again rather haphazardly. However a couple of the smaller parts were missing so I am waiting for an answer from Staples about that. As they are sold out this will probably end up being more trouble than it was worth.

Thank you OP just can any body tell me why all the info on this has gone as i wanted to see some parts on this chair is the arm rest paded at all ??
Mine arrived today and despite my worrying a bit about quality etc, it seems a very good quality chair.
There is no wobble at all and is very sturdy.
Thanks for your link Kyballion - next time I need a chair I will certainly look there, but for now at least I'm more than happy with this one - I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of it.
Lots of adjustments and I like the syncro back, makes it very comfortable. The arm rests have multiple adjustments including the angles, which is something I have found is very welcome. For the money this was a bargain.

Keep the money and buy a real office chair like a Steelcase or Herman Miller reconditioned off ebay. Had chairs like this in the past and if you sit in it for more than 30 mins a day your back will regret it.

We've got Herman Miller chairs in work here - I'm sat in it 8-9 hours a day and I've not experienced a twinge of discomfort of any kind in the 9 months yet. Come home-time I'm still fresh as a daisy!

Expensive but absolutely worth the money, as you say.

I received one of the orders and instead of a gaming chair they sent me 24 bottles of water and then double charged me for the chocolate eggs. Great service.

What do you guys think about this one? Seems a pretty good price. states it has injection moulded seat which makes it suitable for 24hr use. Whilst I doubt any chair is suitable for 24hr use, do you think this could address 'flattening' of the seat after lots of use?

If it is anything like that one(they look very similar but build quality might differ) then it might be best to avoid. - Check reviews in the link I sent.

This was my original thought, as they look identical so I wondered why there was a price difference. But if you look closely the seat part is actually different

Gaming chairs, aka a normal desk chair made to look awful.

That's a great price, I love these boxes so are so strong. I went into the office outlet store (formerly called staples) earlier and they had the clear and blue for £12.50 each or 3 for £30. I got one for £11.25 with my student discount card!
Seems odd how a 35l costs more than the 64l. Anyway, heat from me, thanks OP
these appear fairly frequently at £27 for three. £9 each. They are great boxes, British made, very strong, do not shatter in the cold in the garage.

I just ordered a Songmics Black PU High Back Office Executive Swivel Computer Chair OBG24B from Amazon for just under £100. Had good reviews. Hoping it will be good and last for many years to come. The Songmics brand appears to have good reviews pretty much across the board. Anyone had experience with this or similar models?https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00UTC9T7E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That looks good, excellent find. Best reviews I've seen on chairs - most have several 1 reviews even if the bulk are good! Good price too. Let us know how it goes, but think you're onto a winner there.

that looks a good chair mubashar.

I have to say I am feeling very comfy in my chair though!

If you sit down on your office chair for more than 1 hour per day, do yourself a favour and buy something decent, not this. You're better off buying 2nd hand from ebay over anything cheap. Your back will certainly thank you.

Staples – From a Single Store in the US to More than 100 Stores in the UK

The first Staples store was opened in Brighton, Massachusetts in the United States in 1986. The store was set up by former business rivals Thomas G. Stemberg and Leo Kahn. Stemberg had the idea for the business after he was unable to find a printer ribbon because his local office supplies store was closed for Independence Day.

Staples’ first international store was opened in Ontario, Canada in 1991. The following year, the first UK Staples store was opened in Swansea, Wales.

In 1998, Staples launched its first online store at www.staples.com. By 2001, Staples had launched e-commerce stores in all of the other countries it operated in, including the UK. Today, Staples has over 100 stores in the UK and more than 2,000 stores worldwide. Along with its physical stores, it also has a popular online shop where personal and business customers can order thousands of different office products.

Shopping at Staples

To find your nearest Staples shop, use the Store Locator on the Staples website. Enter your postcode or city name in the search box and you’ll be shown the Staples store nearest to you.
Alternatively, you can shop online at www.staples.co.uk. The Staples website stocks all of the products that are available at the physical branches.
It’s also possible to shop over the phone by calling 0333 3001334. (Note: If you have a discount code, it may not be possible to use this when shopping over the phone).

Safe & Secure Online Shopping at Staples.co.uk

Staples.co.uk has the “Norton Secured“ badge of approval. This seal confirms that the website is official and has been registered to Staples Inc, Staples’ international business name. The website has also been reviewed by TrustPilot.

Finding the Best Deals at Staples

To view the latest deals and discounts, go to the Special Offers section of the online shop.
The dropdown gives several options, but the most relevant are “Unbeatable Prices“, which shows discounted products, and “Clearance“, which shows clearance products. Staples has specific categories for each product type, for example: furniture clearance, office supplies clearance, and technology clearance.
Staples publishes a newsletter featuring their latest deals and special offers. To sign up, create an account with Staples and you’ll be asked whether you want to subscribe to their mailing list. You will need to tick the box to be added to this list.

It’s worth noting that Staples have a “Price Match Guarantee“ program. If you purchase a product from Staples and find the product cheaper elsewhere, simply provide proof of purchase at your nearest Staples store and Staples will match the difference.

Staples also regularly releases voucher codes which can be used to reduce the cost of your order. HotUKDeals have a dedicated page where Staples vouchers codes are collected.

Rewards Card

Staples run a rewards program, so if you regularly shop at Staples it’s well worth signing up to earn points. Points earned can then be used to lower the cost of future orders. It’s worth noting that while you can earn points when shopping online, to spend them you’ll need to make a purchase in store.

Payment Methods at Staples

Staples accepts the following payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, and Staples Business Account.

Staples Business Accounts give business customers up to 60 days to pay with no additional fees or charges. Business customers can sign up for this account on the Staples website.

Staples Delivery Options

Next day delivery is free on all orders over £36. To qualify for next day delivery, orders must be placed before 7pm.

staples office supplies

Staples’ free delivery promise does not apply to furniture, which can take up to 4 weeks to be delivered.

Returning Products to Staples

Products purchased through Staples are guaranteed for one year. If you are unsatisfied with your product during that time, get in touch with Staples. If you simply want to return your product, you have between 30 days and 12 months, depending on how you ordered your product.

Staples OrderCare allows you to return products to Staples anytime within a 12 month period. You can also arrange for these items to be collected, free of charge. To arrange collection, phone 0333 300 1334.
If you did not select OrderCare when ordering, the returns window is 30 days from the date of delivery (or purchase for in-store purchases). Items can be collected free of charge. However, you will need to contact Staples within 7 days or receiving your order to avail of this. After 7 days, a collection charge of £3.50 excluding vat will apply.
