There were loads in staples Gateshead, literally 2 baskets full of them. It's national Black Friday deal

Damnnnnnnnn!!, I hope the 'in-store' only concept is still/is still the case, etc?.

As I wouldn't mind a few of these myself really?, hmmmmmmmm.

Hopefully a few London-based (&/or East London-based) Staples Stores will have some of these knocking about still? (come Sunday/Monday?), if anyone can confirm this?, or ..... thanx either way. :-)

Does anybody know if the keyboard works via bluetooth when not connected to the tablet? Basically I want to control the tablet from the front passenger seat of the car while the kids are watching in the back. I do it with another tablet at the moment with a bluetooth keyboard but having this all in one would be better.

Mines at work but I'm sure you can't. it connects via Pogo pins on the tablet iirc

Poundland has quite a nice A5 2017 page a day diary, goodness knows how they buy it and sell it for £1, it looks very similar to the picture.

Did people see on the news that staples is closing down all its retail stores.

their diaries are a Day Per Page except for Saturdays and Sundays which are on the same page as each other
Get free diaries from work otherwise not bad. Staples is shutting down. Looking for closing down sale :p
Do you know if this has times on each line too?

My order was cancelled and they offered a 4tb USB drive as a replacement.
Thank you for your order.

a) the order tracker doesn't work for guests

You're not missing much. Order tracker says:

Ships directly from our vendor : Ordered
Expected Delivery: Not yet Available
.

has anyone's arrived yet? Mine still showing as processing and it has been ordered on 14th.

Same story here. I just spoke to the support team via text chat and it's been backordered. No word on if or when they'll get more in, and seeing as there's a newer Seagate NAS on sale and the listing no longer exists on the Staples site, I'd say it was EOL. The guy said to get in touch on Monday so they can investigate further.

Just annoying that a) the order tracker doesn't work for guests, so I can't check my order status, b) there wasn't an update emailed out to say what's going on and c) that their site allows for them to take more orders than they can fulfill at that time. My order was placed on the 13th, so if I'm out of luck, then...

I was looking for something similar, but with possibility to connect directly to my PD via USB 3 as well. Does anyone know a model with such a port?
Basically, I'd like to transfer a large amount of data from my PC 1st (around 3TB) and the ultrabook doesn't have network card, and I think wifi would take too long or could cause some issue with that large amount of small files, and I'd like to keep the backup sync after on a regular basis.
Once that's done, I'd like to be able to share a specific folder over the internet for external access, so if a model with USB 3 supports that, I'd be quite interested to know the model to have a look pls...
Cheers!!
You could get USB Network card for that purpose. Will only cost a few pounds.

You will never get this. I ordered two weeks ago - said it was in stock. Waited in for promised next day delivery, nothing received. No email to say it was out of stock. 3 years ago I grabbed same spec monitor for my nephew while building pc for him from my old parts. Even then it was £60 Everything went on max 45-60fps with HD7770 Ghz edition (grabbed it for £58 from pc world, deal seen on hukd btw). Anyway bought myself 27" 1440p ips monitor from south Korea I'm still using with my gtx970, gave him my 24" 1080p benq. Now it struggles a bit. Guess I know Christmas present gonna be GPU :-). Anyway not a deal, just grab what's cheapest who is on budget :-)

Thanks, stacks and stacks in Reading (they had probably about 100 available!).

32GB was £5.49 also.

Edited By: dry on Nov 01, 2016 18:56
I had the 8gb of these from ebuyer for 1.99. They are usb 2.0 and write in the real world at about 4-5 MBps. Good for storage or a windows install stick.
They have 32 gb ones as well , in the green plain packaging and offers on the microsd cards.

Their racks are a bit confusing as they have so many brands and sizes at different prices , but if you look for the plain green ones they are a good price .
These flash drives are slower than a sloth getting out of bed.....

These "natural displays" don't render these words as well as back in the day. This is especially true for '07734' (hELLO), or '71077345' (ShELLOIL), which doesn't work as 4 no longer resembles an 'h' when upside down!

'55378008' still my favourite.

If the Wemo Light, Switch and Insight are anything to go by, these are rubbish.
I have strong WiFi through my house on both AC and N bands. The Wemo products either fail to remain connected or they freeze, assuming they ever setup in the first place.
I know this is only £10 but it'll be as reliable as £10 on a 500/1 outsider winning the Grand National.
That doesn't answer the question though. "What is it?"
Is is a 'Rubbish' sorry if that wasn't clear.

"Is is a 'Rubbish'". Well, how very useful. Is that even English?

I picked one of these up yesterday after ordering online (Quidco made it down to £299)
was sceptical at first due to the price, but plugged it in and the picture is amazing! haven't tested the 4K yet as only used tv and a DVD, but a bargain for the price even if not 4K!!
I bought this TV when it was £325 a few weeks back expecting it to be rubbish - however it is fine, as good as the 49" Sony 4K TV I already owned at a fraction of the price.

There will always be those that do not like the look of the picture / the sound / the remote / the brand / or even the cardboard box it comes in!

Sigh :-( , such is life.

If you pay a Dacia price do you expect to get a Ferrari? The same is true with TVs. For the money this is simply a great TV however the back panel has a slight angle to it which makes the TV tilt backwards at the top on some mounts - I can live with this.

Like many sets, all it requires is some adjustment of settings to get a picture that is just fine.
All this continuous talk of a set being made by Vestel automatically being poor is just stupid.
If they were that bad then over time, it would have become apparent and they would no longer be purchased and have gone out of business.
This. If you buy a TV on the cheaper end of the spectrum you have to be prepared to do some background reading and spend some time to get the picture how you want it across your various sources. Not saying those above haven't done so, but the idea that the picture will be so bad you'd send it back, on a 4k screen, is baffling to me.
Yes.
With a few simple adjustments, SD looks just fine, clear and without issues on my cheap 48" 4k TV.
Also had a vestel that didn't even break sweat in 5 years, without a single problem in all that time.

I have this TV and when I turned it on I thought I havd made a mistake (due to the poor picture), but once I fiddled with the settings it is fine.

Could anyone let me know what settings they have as I think this would help people set up the tv and also let me know if I could improve the picture even more? cheers
Steamy Wee

Staples – From a Single Store in the US to More than 100 Stores in the UK

The first Staples store was opened in Brighton, Massachusetts in the United States in 1986. The store was set up by former business rivals Thomas G. Stemberg and Leo Kahn. Stemberg had the idea for the business after he was unable to find a printer ribbon because his local office supplies store was closed for Independence Day.

Staples’ first international store was opened in Ontario, Canada in 1991. The following year, the first UK Staples store was opened in Swansea, Wales.

In 1998, Staples launched its first online store at www.staples.com. By 2001, Staples had launched e-commerce stores in all of the other countries it operated in, including the UK. Staples publishes a newsletter featuring their latest deals and special offers. To sign up, create an account with Staples and you’ll be asked whether you want to subscribe to their mailing list. You will need to tick the box to be added to this list.
