Next cheapest I can see is £7.99 pre-owned at Game/Gamestation

---------------

A prequel that combines sci-fi and fantasy elements, spanning multiple planets and the vastness of space itself to recount the origins of the Star Ocean universe.

Exhilarating combat expands upon the series' famous real-time battle system, including the amazing graphics and visual effects only possible on the Xbox 360.

Features breathtaking CG movies by Visual Works, the cutting-edge studio whose previous work includes cut scenes for the acclaimed Final Fantasy RPG series.

Is the game any good? What can it be compared with?
#2
Its a good game, the characters can be a bit annoying but that's the same with all these types of games.

Not sure what I can compare it with.

I like the battle system, when you encounter an enemy it takes you to a battle zone where you move and fight freely within that area, you can control all your characters and use all their abilities and can have 4 in use at a time, the other 3 characters will fight according to the strategy you have set them.

There are small side quests that can be completed but don't really have a big impact or reward. You have to do them all for one of the achievements and some are missable.

If I didn't already have this I would get it, its a good price.

Excellent value for money. Played for over 100 hours.

The battle system is very good but the random fights can get a little tedious.

I've heard the voice acting (and it) is terrible. English dub, no option to switch it off.
Below are just a few snippets to give you an idea of what to expect: -

Still for £5, it's a bargain for jrpg lovers; another 360 rpg called Tales of Vesperia cost me 10 times as much as it was out of print and had to buy it used from ebay.
