This is sooooo hot! The hottest thing on this website today. I have been waiting for the price to fall to sub-£17.99. And now it has! And I get all the special edition stuff too. The t-shirt won't fit, but what they hey. Thanks andywedge!

good deal. Paid 30 quid for this.

Is it any good?

I must admit, I want it - despite it being one of the geekiest things I've ever seen on HUKD!

Well, other than all the Play.com T-Shirts :-D

It is like any MMO, been released too early, not polished, and quite buggy!

But.... It is fun!, boring bits like any other mmo, but so vast you can do something different everytime you login.

Worth a look imo.

The BF is max lvl atm, told me to wait a few weeks for things to sort out and for more content to be added, he said this is a good deal :-D

I like Star Trek. I am interesetd. How does it compare to EVE-Online?
#8
Stick with Eve, STO is just awful repetitive and dull. Typical Crytpic rubbish.

Decent deal, been looking for an MMO to sink my teeth into, thought lord of the rings was utter sh!te , after reading all the rave reviews, only other decent one I can tell is EQ 2, but same as old, Conan, not that great either, nor is WAR, might wait for the trial though.

Cheers - going to try this although I've read bad reviews for it. Heat and rep added

How do you team up with others on this?

I would give it a go but it just doesnt seem feasable to me as a game without the traditonal 'dungeon' style mechanic.

Good price. I also paid £29.99 from Game (before they raised the price) in January.

Played the Open Beta, and the "Headstart". I've found myself playing less and less, and I'm still undecided if I'll continue to do so given that the game isn't as strong as I thought / hoped it would be. It took them absolute ages to get a "Bridge Mode" option going on, but there's nothing you can do there. Don't for one second imagine that you can warp around the place from your bridge. You can't. Everything is in the 3rd-person prespective.

Missions are still a bit buggy, with some not completing at all. I believe they fixed a lot of the issues regarding the costumes though.

Anyone who's bought the retail game previously should have a "Buddy Key" which allows them to provide a friend with a 5 day pass. I've got one which I haven't given out, so if anyone's interested - send me a PM (let's not hijack this thread, yes) and I'll randomly select someone from the requests.

Overall, the game is good and has many plus points - the sounds are actually pretty amazing. There are also minus points - which you'll no doubt find out about.

Most of the earlier missions / early character progression seems to be getting worked on which is good for newbies, as you shouldn't notice anything too out of the ordinary, but for those who have been playing for the last month or so - it's not looking too good.

The early missions are repetitive though - I will agree on that. I persevered and I am seeing a change in the mission files - to get to be a little more interactive.

Personally I may give it another 30 days to see what happens.

Easy. Just click the persons name and select either "Invite to team" or "Request to join team".

Even now, weeks later people are still begging for invites to team up. It's easy to do yourself - I think it's more to do with lazyness. It's good that you can team up though, as others no doubt have different weaponry, and skills. Allows for a more interesting gameplay, especially in space combat.

One ship may have the ability to lower the shields of the enemy, while another will have advanced weapons / more focused / more damage.

Nice price and seeing the game is really poor at the moment they are giving people an extra 60 days gametime for free. I bought this on pre-order for £24.99 from Amazon.co.uk and I only played it for 2 weeks before quitting. This is the worst case of an unfinished game being released too early that I have ever played, I've been in closed beta's more polished than this!

Still, A good price if you want it.

Thanks for that. I didnt really mean that though. I dont have the game as such. I was more thinking about the traditional Guild type setup. I assume you create a mini federation type scenario so that you can do missions together?

What are the dungeons? Are they just large starships or multiple enemies?

As someone who has just quit playing WoW I have somewhat of an MMO void but LOTRO wasnt for me and Aeon is just a WoW wannabe with horrendous server wait times that I have no interest in experiencing again.
