Going boldly where no man had gone before, Gene Roddenberry's cult phenomenon Star Trek debuted in 1966 and reflected that decade's optimistic preoccupation with space travel. Set in the 23rd century, the series chronicled the intergalactic adventures of the U.S.S. Enterprise on its five year mission to explore the outer reaches of space. Encountering a now iconic assembly of innovative alien life forms such as the Klingons, Romulans, Tribbles, and Khan Noonian Singh, the ship's jumpsuited crew was a then unheard-of font of multiculturism: Asian Hikaru Sulu (George Takei), African-American Nyota Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), and Scotsman Montgomery Scotty Scott (James Doohan). But it was the contrasting personalities of cooly logical Vulcan Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy), emotionally intuitive medical officer Leonard Bones McCoy (DeForest Kelley), and womanizing ship captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner in definitive overacting mode) that lent the series much of its charm and spawned a rabid cult following that continues to fuel costume sales and convention bookings to this very day. Presented here is every episode from the show's debut series.

Thanks for this, just ordered all three series using the "britvic" code, 8 discs in eachbox has to be a bargain for any trekkie. Total came to £32.76 after discount that's about £1.37 a disc....
Hot hot hot hot hot hot hot buying now
Thanks been waiting for these to come down to a decent price.

That's my Trek collection complete now - don't know when I get round to watching them though, guess they'll go in the cupboard with all the others that I haven't had time to watch :-)
Same here been waiting for over a year, now I have an excuse to replace the videos

Wish it was the bluray sets coming down in price. They've been stuck around £45 since release!

Good deal, but should mention this is for the DVD version.
Thanks for this, I can indulge the inner Trekkie
Voted HOT, however after seeing these on Blu-Ray at a friends I now only want them on Blu-Ray.

As mentioned before I can't believe the Blu-Ray versions have not budged in price since they were released.

I also see that they are bringing the Blu-Rays out together in a complete boxset in May 2011 for about £140.
£140 yeah like they sell at that price.

I paid £60ish when they first came out on DVD years ago.
The "remastered" space scenes in this one look out of place, looks too modern compared to everything, they should have left it how it was. Good price though, had these for a while.

I'm not sure about the DVD version but I believe that on the Blu-Ray version you have the choice of which version you want to watch, either new scenes or the original scenes.
What's the aspect ratio are they 4/3?
