Is all the content on this within the original series Blu-ray? Or is the content different from that? Anyone know this please?

It's mainly original star trek episodes in 1080p and crucially now included additional"found footage"

I'm really looking forward to seeing it all ....

I'm guessing the blu-ray box set for original series is 1080p? So the main reason for getting this is the extras?

Yes the main reason for this is it contains 30 minutes of footage from the original series that has never been seen before, plus 2 and a half hours of new interviews.

The new footage hasn't been restored or integrated into the original episodes so this boxset was forcing people to re-buy 12 episodes they already have to get the 3 hours of new bonus material.

That's a bit sly

At under £15, for me it was worth it for the behind the scenes footage and 3 part 90min documentary. Didn't feel like I was being forced to re-buy episodes. Another way to look at it, the relevant episodes being on the same discs with the extra footage would mean you didn't have to swap to (or even own) the main series set to see the episodes to put the extra footage in context.

Lets put it this way, I'm glad they released it as an individual set rather than packaging it as part of new season boxsets, which they could have easily done and charged a lot more for.

I've never owned TOS would this be the way to go? I keep hoping they'll remaster STV.
