Being from an older generation I tried really hard not to like this film, however it was rather good.

A good price for the DVD.

Yeh I wasn't expecting it to be very good, tbh it wasn't......................it was FANTASTIC:-D

I love this film, I've watched it a few times since buying the dvd and it gets better every time.

Nice price OP

Starsparkle - picking up on your avatar, the one thing about this film that didn't work for me was the casting of Simon Pegg as Scotty. Just didn't work for me - fortunately his intro in the film didn't transcend in to a Ja Ja Binks fiasco, but for a while I was fearing the worst!

I disagree, watched this for the first time a couple of days ago.... Thought it was so good I watched it again straight away (where the end sort of ties back into the beginning)

And I hate Simon Pegg in pretty much everything else he has done, but thought he suited that role very well, and did a good job of bringing the character up to date. Thought that of most of the actors really and I feel they have done a far better job on this than they did of bringing Star Wars up to date.

Good deal and voted hot.

Done

Agree with HowAboutNo, I wasn't sure at first about Pegg in this but he played the role well.
Looking forward to the sequel.

I really really really wanted Scotty to be played by Paul McGillion he auditioned for it but they'd already decided to cast Pegg at that point, Paul go that little bit part on Earth when Kirk was hassling him about not getting an assignment, he also played Carson Beckett on Stargate Atlantis who was excellent in that with a perfect Scottish accent too.

In the end Pegg was good enough I still think McGillion would have been better but I wasn't disappointed with ANY of the casting the criminal thing is we have to wait until summer 2012 for the next Trek movie

Funny, I love Pegg in his other films (SOTD, Hott Fuz etc) but just don't rate him in this flick. Different opinions I guess! One character that this film absolutely nailed is Zoë Saldana casting as Uhura. What a babe......

I'm still waiting for the 2 disc version to drop in price, but voted hot anyway :-)

Hooray I can come out of the cupboard. Loved the film, never stopped laughing much to young daughters amusement, not that she could understand. 'James T -- who??' Excellent casting and very well acted. Cannot wait for the sequel. If i am still around.
