No online anymore.

Dedicated servers are still up, as are GameRanger servers. Both are pretty active.

Not strictly true. GameRanger's tunnelling software has kept Battlefront 2 alive but only marginally so, and this unofficial online support introduces a whole new set of problems to the game's already fairly clunky interface.

Can't wait for number 3!

Same price in the Star Wars sale on May 4th. Great price although online play will be tricky from now on. GameRanger is a relatively safe bet though.

Is it purely online or is there an offline option? I remember this from the PS2, it had a fairly decent single player option and wouldn't mind getting this if the same applied to the PC.

Shows up as £3.24 now

Offline too, Galactic Conquest, Rise of the Empire and Instant Action just like the PS2 version.

Same for me, if OP could amend price on title that would be great

Yup. Single player campaign is on the pc. The space sections have joystick support.

was thinking of taking a punt but im guessing the online workarounds aren't really optimal?

You can still play on dedicated servers. I was playing a couple of hours ago. Just click multiplayer and join a server.

Having played the ps2 version totally offline I have to say it's not bad with the npc ai.

Really dated though but not bad for the price.

Can't say I've had any issues myself. I generally always find a decently enough populated server to play on.
