My kid's already got this, never plays it. As a matter of fact, he hardly ever turns his PS4 on. Waste of over £300.

its a silly comment.
your kid doesn't turn on his ps4. so what? that's his personal choice.
it could be still a good quality product and it obviously is as people buy it like crazy

Why is this rated a 16? Is the content inappropriate for a 9 and 11 year old or just tricky?

Probably because you have to kill each other.

You can play against bots, local split screen as well but no campaign as such

Yeah but Asda don't accept £79 bungs every year to sell it to you for a tenner. So that's obviously not as good as the Amazon deal.

Ultimate Edition release's next week but it is not available in the UK so hopefully they will have some sort of discount on it.

I still play this a fair amount on PC, the playerbase is quite pathetic but I hear it's still relatively popular on console.

The lack of a single player campaign and general lack of content at launch really damaged this title. PC has also suffered quite poor post-release support; there have been numerous bugs introduced with each DLC and patches only seem to be delivered with content drops (which introduce new bugs).

It's a shame as the presentation is stellar, and IMO the game itself is very very fun. Here's hoping they get their act together for the sequel!

Parents need to know that Star Wars Battlefront is a first-person or third-person shooter game, so be aware violent combat makes up the bulk of the gameplay. Some of the weapons are lifelike -- such as a blaster (pistol), a lightsaber (sword), a rocket launcher, and bombs -- even though this game is clearly based on science fiction (you can pilot giant AT-AT Walkers, race hovering speeder bikes, or dogfight ships in space). Enemies cry out, fall down, or, in some cases, explode into thin air, but there's no blood or gore. The timing of the release of this game, only a few weeks before the release of Star Wars: Episode VII -- The Force Awakens, combined with downloadable content and its tie-in with other franchise merchandise could make gamers interested in other Star Wars-related items.

IS IT ANY GOOD?
QUALITY
This fast-paced, large-scale shooter is a really good game that looks great and sounds even better, thanks to extraordinarily epic music and sound effects. It's accessible, and the controls feel right. The massively multiplayer battles are a blast, especially in modes such as Cargo (capture-the-flag), Heroes vs. Villains, Blast (Team Deathmatch), Fighter Squadron, and Walker Assault. There's a good amount of variety in characters, weapons, vehicles, locations, and modes. So, what's the problem?

Despite a lot of variety, after a couple of hours of gameplay you might feel like the magic is wearing off. Battles sequences can be repetitive and redundant. There are very few weapon upgrades, and the secondary weapons aren’t worth writing home about. Some modes aren’t well conceived, executed or balanced. A few technical bugs remind you it's a game, and the voice acting isn't really so hot. But seriously, Star Wars Battlefront is fun. Casual Star Wars fans will think this game's the bomb. Hard-core shooter fans will likely think it's shallow -- trading depth for breadth -- which isn’t inaccurate. Despite its watered-down gameplay (that would only be a B-grade experience without the awesome Star Wars lore), gamers should fall for the charm in one of the best Star Wars games to date.

Taken from commonsensemedia.org. Just google the game with "commonsensemedia" added to the search. My kids check it out themselves first before they start pestering me for a game (8 and 9) luckily the free games with gold and EA access usually keep them satisfied. But I use this site for films and games.

What's this about EA access? Is it like PS Plus but for EA? If so, that's BS
#31
Better alternative to Infinite Warfare and you can get BF1 when prices come down

This will be on PS Plus soon, probably after another expansion to try hook you on an upgrade.

Obviously Knack will be before that ;0)

Its a subscription library of mainly sports games (usually a "year" behind as they still have to sell games) which for £20 a year represents excellent value IMHO even though I don't subscribe.

Same, for another £10 its a non-brainer (the game will have no residual value and you'll be bored with it before 12mths).

Probably one of the biggest mistakes in game development no having a campaign mode on this and charging full price for it when it came out.

I'm sure they had it in a PSN sale a while back for £23? So hopefully will get a drop again. The Xbox One season pass is certainly well overdue a price drop, that's never gone down to a decent level :(
