Decent price for all 6 films.
For info, I already had the first 3 (IV, V, VI) which i got free with a panasonic product a couple of years ago so only needed the last 3 but wouldn't pay £25 for it. At the moment Amazon have also got the last 3 in a bluray boxset for £14.28, less that £5 per bluray. Here:

Same price in Sainsbury's (still a rip-off) (_;)

Too expensive for a set that's been out a couple of years now. When you can get the (consistently good) full Harry Potter set for £23 at Tesco Direct, this doesn't sound just a good deal. And we can expect another release within the next few years as well.

Seen Amazon reduce the price of this from £50 to £45 to £40 (and back up to £50 somewhere in between) over past week or so. Not pulling the trigger having seen it available during Lightening Deals recently for £33.99 delivered and having been unable to track down a copy at Sainsbury's during their recent Nectar Double Up event. :(

Needs to be 30 to be hot
#6
Yeah, 30p. Last few films were a joke.
#7
Same here £30 and I'm in!
#8
Heat added - except it's not the complete saga is it :p

I finally got my hands on the DVDs of the original theatrical releases - pre-owned for £8! I'd been looking for them for ages and they're mighty hard to come by.
#10
its not complete though so cold from me - only joking i wont be voting cold but it is not complete !

I imagine hard to watch as well considering the resolution. Ain't worth the pain unless you are living in the past and still watching on a CRT TV. I'll take HD anyway at the expense of some unneeded additional special effects.

I have this Blu-Ray set as well - just wanted to get my hands on the originals too.

How is it not complete? It has episode I to VI in it so it's most definitely complete. Unless anyone is stupid enough to buy this boxset expecting unreleased movies in it.

May as well have them but I could never see myself picking DVD over Blu-Ray. You never know though, might be worth more than the 8 quid you paid for it in 10-20 years.

Well, I got them from zOverstocks and their pre-owned stock is always exceptional quality. I bought them for £8 two months ago and the cheapest I see them online now pre-owned is £38.

It's because of the release of the new movie in 2015. It's currently a complete set, but after the new one comes out, it won't be!

Doesn't Lucas still get all the money from these film sales? Didn't disney only buy the rights to the new films?

Can't see a box set coming out for at least another 6 years IMHO

True, Harry Potter is a cheaper, but a more comparable product is The Lord of the Rings extended box set. 3 films that have rarely dropped below £25-£30 range. Warner Bros just rams the market with it's franchises (look at how many cheap Superman or Batman collections are out there), while other studios are more conservative with their franchises.

Considering that the sequel trilogy is in the works, I would rather buy each trilogy separately. Hot none the less.

Try downloading Harmy's despecialized editions. They're Blu-Ray quality, but with all the Lucas special edition crap taken out. Really impressive work and much better than the non-anamorphic DVDs.

Oh yes we wouldn't want anyone to stupid to see that new movies are being released thereby making this set not complete . that would be awful .

Price currently £45 on Amazon. Wonder if they increased it by a fiver due to the current £5 off a £40 spend when paying by MasterCard and using code: priceless ?
#23
Anyone found this cheaper anywhere else but delivery in time for Christmas?
#24
Up to £49.99 again :(
