If you can even buy the complete saga 9 disk set a few weeks after it launches I will be impressed. The only reason LotR sold poorly was because they were rubbish transfers of the theatrical releases. This is probably going to be the only 2D release of the complete saga there's going to be on blu-ray, A LOT of effort has gone into producing it.

It's got the number of Star Wars films wrong.

If you think so then good for you, personally I would struggle to find a single boxset issued on BR that does not drop hugely in price a few months after release, including so called limited releases, special editions etc

eh? Episodes I to VI. 1 to 6. 6 fillums. Unless I missed one, or dreamt one, I think that is correct, no?

Its the setup for another hilarious 'there is no prequel trilogy' gag. twelve years on and it just keeps on getting funnier.

The 9 disk release has been confirmed to be limited - out of interest, did you try and access maythe4th.starwars.com yesterday when the site announcement went live? Yeah, it crashed at the very second the information went up due to mass nerd hammering.

This is Star Wars in HD, this WILL sell by the shitload. It will not need a price drop. If you think a 9 disk blu-ray, of any series nevermind one of the greatest in cinema history will reach 17.99 not long after release then I'm afraid its you that's deluded.

Correction, two of the prequels are crap.

But yeah, a big countdown and all they've got to announce is yet another re-release of the movies? Poor show.

It happened to all of them which sold badly. I can promise you that if LotR's only blu-ray release was the extended cut set which is out this year then that would not hitting the 17.95 mark like the crap release we have now has done.

Star Wars MAY see a price drop once the 3D versions are released and this set is superseded, but that is a good few years off yet and whether this 9 disk set is still purchasable by then will remain to be seen.

:D While I agree on that in principle, what I meant is they should've added the Ewok films as bonuses - or am I the only one who shat bricks at Caravan of Courage in the cinema?
