I noticed this last week or so when the release date was 25th Jan which was now pushed back to the 30th Jan.

Choose your destiny, complete your training by constructing your own Force FX Lightsaber and get in touch with your Jedi or Sith side.

This kit features a tri-colour, (red, blue or green), LED blade and different sound samples depending on the blade colour.

There are more than 1000 possible combinations.

Further description from play indicates that there are over 1000 different combinations :

"Choose your destiny, complete your training by constructing your own Force FX Lightsaber and get in touch with your Jedi or Sith side. Should occupy anyone for ages, fan or not.

No Worries.

I am tempted but having brought the earlier lightsabers at £25, the question is, do I need another one?

Nice collection going there

wish i had the money lol

I got all 3 individual sabres before Xmas too. Hmmm...in a bit of a state now...do I complete the set (and possibly have spares) or do I risk divorce???:?

I think FX licence from Lucasfilm expired 2007 so no more will be getting made - perhaps this is their way of a final cash in ??
#14
done a little bit of research, I understand the parts are plastic and there is only a single light emitter at the base of the "blade" so it doesnt power up properly and gets dimmer towards the end.

Interesting, but not a patch on the replica's that were going before christmas, personally I dont think this is a great price for something that's plastic and doesnt have the proper LED bar inside but not too bad so I'm not voting either way.

You guys actually play with these?
#16
These are rubbish have a look on youtube.
not worth the money.
#17
I fthese are anything like the ones you get to build in Disneyworld, then they're really not worth it. It was good fun building one with my son and he got the bonus of a badge, but the colour is really, really weak. The girl in the store actually told us to double up on the filters to make the colour stronger.

The blade on the one we got was the same opaque white colour, so it may suffer from the same problem.
#18
Not bad, I've got 2 battle damaged Mauls so I have a spare connector which I may well use with a couple of these to produce a new double ended bizarre one.
#19
.. Its worth noting that these are 5 inches shorter than the 'proper' ones and also have a single LED - so no power up/down effect.
#20
These are ok, but not a patch on the other ones in all honesty! On the plus side however, the price of them is fantastic! Having imported some it cost a whole hell of a lot more than this! So, its hot in my books!
#21
My brother and I bought the previous three (Yoda,Luke,Vader) I must say there's nothing quite like hammering the hell out of your sibling with these babies, especially in pitch black (awsome). A little dissapointed that theirs only one LED at base, if thats true I don't think I'll purchase, but thanks for the heads up!

Very tempted by the Yoda one. Can anyone recommend any of them?

Hey Guys,

New member, signed up expecially to comment on this item.

I saw it in a shop in Derby's new "Westfield" shopping centre about 3 weeks ago. I have to say the idea is cool (being able to make your own design from a combination of 3 components) but it looks a bit "meh".

It was in a display cabinet and not out to test (read: "play"). The components looked like they were metal but may well have been plastic as crocodilemick says!

wot a suprise PLAY yet again advertising summit they dont have and again keep changing dates...

Careful...yoda one is a good bit smaller than the others ...as you would expect I suppose. It is still a great bit of kit but for adults knocking about I would go for the darth/luke ones. If you have a kid though Yoda sabre would be brill as they are heavy!
