Good value for the collection. Just a shame Battlefront 2 and Knights of the Old Republic 2 aren't included.

Agree - both are top games

worth it just for empire at war

Fantastic Collection. Features KotOR on a DVD, the original came on 4 cds.

But, yes, there are many more great Star Wars games out there.

slightly off topic but.....

do some of the older star wars games like tie fighter, rogue squadron only work on old computers and by old I mean specs say runs on windows 95/98?

how would you get rogue squadron to work on a pc with windows 7?

in the meantime, I'll always have my N64

Dosbox? :-D
I'm sure they're updated versions; I know for a fact X-Wing & Tie fighter had high res windows re-releases not so many years ago.

swwet memorys swg greatest game they ever ****** up imo

I got this a couple of years back for double this price, well worth it. KOTOR alone makes this worth £9

WHERE IS JEDI ACADEMY?

JK2 was good as well.

KOTR and KOTR2 were crap! Hated the final fantasy style of fighting!
#14
Are any of those games RTS?

The KOTOR games were amazing, and nothing like FF, you dope.:p

Yes, Empire at War. Though it's not a particularly good one.

It was meant as the successor to Rebellion/Supremacy, however it doesn't have anywhere near the depth of it's predecessor.
The Space battles are the best bit, and look nice enough - but feels lacking when compared to the likes of Homeworld.
Land combat is clunky, awkward, and not particularly fun. The galaxy map is functional, but exposes the lack of depth in the game's strategy.

The only other StarWars RTS games that come to mind are:-
1) Force Commander - old, very ambitious (for the time) but ultimately let down by a very clunky interface.
2) Rebellion(US)/Supremacy(UK) - predecessor to EaW; old, more of a 4X game than a traditional RTS. It's a good game, but graphically it's not aged very well.

As for this package, i'd rate them as follows:

* Star Wars: Empire at War
7/10 - shallow, but pretty.
* Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
9/10 - epic story, engaging characters, fun gameplay.
* Star Wars Battlefront
6/10 - some nice ideas (take down an ATAT with harpoons & tow cable!), but not a particularly good team-based shooter.
* Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
9/10 - excellent successor to Jedi Knight Dark Forces II, acceptable story, excellent implementation of combat & force powers, though the difficulty curve is backwards - the game starts out very hard, and gets easier once you obtain your saber & strengthen your force powers.
* Star Wars: Republic Commando
7/10 - shameless cash-in on the prequel trilogy, but it's actually an ok shooter!
* Star Wars Galaxies 14 Day Trial
0/10 - trash.

Galactic Battlegrounds (and Ep II expansion Clone Campaigns) were very good RTS games for their day. Very similar to Command & Conquer\Red Alert, and more successful than Force Commander as they were less ambitious graphically. I lost many hours of my youth to these...

Personally I found Supremacy a bit dull. Questionably close to the (better) game Ascendency, with C3P0 shoved in front of the interface for good measure.

got this a while back for same price its a great deal as kotor is just awesome

KOTOR a total classic.

HK-47 is one of the greatest characters in it and is basically an evil version of Bender.

Hands off the master meatbag! :-D
#23
X-Wing Alliance is missing and is prob the best space shooter they made, KOTOR 1 was superb, Battlefront was good back in the day, loved it on Xbox, Jedi Outcast was ok, but I found Republic Commando and Empire at War ******.

Star Wars Supremacy is where its at!

..basically an evil version of Bender.

 You do realize Bender *is* evil, right?

I always forget about DOS box...I think I used it once to run Another World. Will DOS box still make use of modern day graphic cards e.g. 9800GT ?

Depends what you mean; Dosbox can be configured to use D3D or OpenGL to accelerate it's 2d drawing. However, emulating 3D dos applications is a different matter.

Dos applications that took advantage of hardware accelerated 3d are few & far between; most were 3DFX (glide) or PowerVR (SGL) applications.
I believe it is possible to get glide 3d support in dosbox, though I don't know if it is emulated in software, or if it uses wrapper functions to redirect the glide functions onto opengl & d3d.
