For the Ultimate Edition, this is an excellent price. Usually £19.99 on Steam. A very enjoyable game. Check you have the correct system requirements before buying this game. First ever post here :)

I wonder what for?

They probably could not have done a worse port if they had tried. Please do not buy and do yourself favour if you want to play it get one of the console versions

Yeah, no optimizing was done, all the video files for cutscene in multiple separate languages are all individual, and the file size jumped up. You are pretty much downloading 10GB+ of stuff you will never use if you play in the game in English.

Ouch. Do Not Want
#11
I want this version on x360 or ps3 but can't find it anywhere for a decent price (under £20)
#12
I'm trying to buy it - damn checkout isn't working properly on Steam.
#13
Just bought it. (Thanks OP)

That is a helluva big file though.
#14
Just bought it - im sure it will be just as good as the console versions - they cant go wrong with it really can they? And i bet Xbox controllers are supported

Dreadful port.

Want to spend your skill points? Prepare for a loading screen to get to the sub-menu where you can spend them.
Want to change your player model? Prepare to have the entire level reloaded (and you shunted back to the last save point).
Have a PC roughly as powerful as a XBox 360?
Sorry, your PC needs to be atleast twice as powerful to get a smooth game.

All that said, if you do have a powerful machine and you don't mind the tedoius console menus it is fundamentally quite a fun game.
However £5 is right on the edge of what i'd pay for it.

The download size is actually 14.1GB; 30GB is the installation size.

To all those wondering whether to get this or not, just wait until the inevitable Jedi Knight games sale over the week at some point.

Its what a jedi lightsaber game should be, and not a reskinned and poorly optimised version of Ninja Gaiden minus the difficulty

Great game, great deal. Thanks

I was OP but then got banned because i had already created an account ( Which i can never remember doing ) Omezak = Kazemo backwards...

29GB of cut scene movie files and 1GB of actual game data....

Plays like crap and reget buying - stick with the XBOX 360 version.

Worst port ever, camera and controls suck beyond belief. I was really disapointed since I wanted more game play like Jedi Knights.
#21
not a great game, you can get a few hours out of it so for £5 not to bad
#22
Brilliant (?), it's LucasArts week on Steam and I bloomin' purchased Knights of the Old Republic last week!

Force Unleashed on the PC does indeed need something special to allow it to be played. I'm a couple of notches over the minimum spec and it jerk-pigged itself along when I installed it.

Guessing we're gonna see a Jedi Knight day, and maybe a Lego day later in the week.

The performance of this game is terrible, my PC plays MW2 Crysis etc smoothly, but this game chugs along, freezes frequently for a second or two and as for the controls, hopeless and awkward, which is a shame as the game has the makings of an alright time sink, with Star Wars force powers and shooter fun in a very Jedi Knight series style, but it is crippled by being a very poor console port.

Runs like a dream :) Cant see any problems with the game.
