Looking at http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=244024 it appears as though Blizzard are readying up to rip us off and have priced it as a RRP of €60 and $60, which is around £52'ish.

I'm unsure as to The Game Collections policy with regards to pre-order prices - as noted in the article, Amazon do price promise, but they are charging £30.

To be fair, i'm not a big enough fan to spend £30 on this - i'll wait a week or two, and get it for <£20

Voted hot, as cheapest around, and I hope this info helps someone

Nice Price. I lost interest with Starcraft II when I heard they removed the LAN play. Link up via battlenet only... spit! (no doubt they'll charge for it).

Protection is pretty dodgy as well.

Only 1 SP campaign? for £30!! (RRP £40!!!)
Sounds extremely over-optimistic to me, PC gamers simply won't pay that much for 1/3 of a game.

I bet the price will drop like a stone after the first few weeks, something like £10 sounds more reasonable.

They'll probably sell over 5 million copies in the first week just in South Korea. :)
It's not going to be a chopped short campaign, it'll have plenty of content for a single game, even a Protoss mini-campaign.
The original Starcraft contained about 13 levels / race, which is the third of the content we are about to see in the sequel so I don't worry about the playtime.

I've asked TheGameCollection if they have pre-order price guarantee - Yet waiting for their answer.

I've received their answer from TheGameCollection:

Q: Do you guarantee pre-order prices or are they subject to change due to the publisher?
A: If the price goes up after your order. You will pay the price, you ordered at.

I will defend the campaign part; 30 missions in the first campaign with over 20 minutes of high quality CG cinematics
but I agree with the lan part, add to that region lock and the lack of lan is the least thing to worry about
region lock means that if you are from Europe you will only play with peeps from Europe
voted hot though, I waited 10 years for the campaign, I hope that it won't be screwed by some cheap plot

The region lock will be there only for the first few months to prevent the servers being stressed.
About the LAN: Internet is kinda natural thing to have in these years, it's unlikely to have a LAN party without net availability. Seriously, if I want to play in the middle of a forest I just get my phone hooked on my laptop and share the connection through wifi for my m8(s)...
Not to mention that there'll probably be an unofficial solituon for the problem:thumbsup:

Everyone links via Internet do they. :-D Really... so univeristies, gaming cafes, group challenges and people who have machines networked in the house... etc obviously dont count. My problem is that playing on the Internet will be charged. Though battlenet was free with the original Starcarft, I think it wont be this time round. They know from WOW, its the way to make the money. We'll see if I'm right soon enough

On a LAN, I get to play the people I actually want to play in the same place with a couple of beers with a super fast connection (meaning huge armies with all the computer players on and no lag). What annoys alot of people is that LAN was in there (maybe not 100% complete) and they removed it. They did this purely to force people onto Battlenet to make more money.

Here's hoping someone works out how to setup a local Battlenet like they did with the original Starcraft :-D

The games not looking balanced anyway. Protoss will slaughter Zerg especially with that shield weapon that can be used to block enterances/bridges that will make the AI path finding go haywire (have a look at one of the videos on YouTube).

There's a lot of misinformation about the game...
    1. BattleNet 2.0 will be free for everyone, you CAN pay for extra downloadable content like home made maps) though.
    2. Most game in Korea is won by the Zerg.. Anyway, what you've seen is the beta version of the game which is being balanced continuously.
    4. The purpose of the force shield IS to mess the ai up. There're tricks to avoid it.
    Sin_of_nature
IF Battlenet is free and remains so, that wouldnt be too bad.

Demo I saw, the Protoss blocked the 1 and only route across a bridge... the Zerg was doomed (no rushes could be through, Protoss shot them from a distance). Suppose it depends how you control them

Thanks for the info on Battlenet.
