Stardust DVD £2.85 @ Zavvi & The Hut

Cheaper deal posted instore at Blockbuster-but if there are none near you or the offer isn't in your local- thisis the next best i can find.

Stardust is a truly enchanting fairy tale. Director Matthew Vaughn (LOCK, STOCK, AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS) takes his experience with credible crime capers and applies it to the fantasy genre in this charming but not too precious adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel. The many threads of the story intertwine seamlessly, unfolding at an unforced pace that complements the movie's magical special effects.

Charlie Cox (CASANOVA) stars as Tristan, a somewhat bumbling shopkeepers assistant in the sleepy English village of Wall, so named for the stone barrier that separates it from the magical realm of Stormhold. Tristan is in love with the beautiful, dismissive Victoria (Sienna Miller), who much prefers her other suitor, Humphrey (Henry Cavill), since he has travelled all the way to Ipswich to buy her an engagement ring.

Tristan, in a last-ditch effort to win Victoria's affections, offers to bring her a fallen star they've just seen, and she agrees to marry him if he can deliver. Unbeknownst to Tristan, he is the product of his father's (Nathaniel Parker) sole excursion to Stormhold, where he had a tryst with a mysterious slave girl (Kate Magowan) who said she was a princess. As Tristan retraces his fathers steps he discovers that the 'star' is actually a beautiful young woman named Yvaine (Claire Danes).

A trio of witches, led by a delightfully wicked Michelle Pfeiffer, wants to capture Yvaine to cut out her heart and gain eternal youth, while the three remaining sons of the recently deceased king (Peter O'Toole) compete with one another to find the gem Yvaine wears around her neck.

Stardust has special effects that never outshine the performances and a sweet story peppered with hints of Gaiman's dark sensibility.

If you'd prefer this is still £2 from Blockbusters

Or watch it for free on Film Four in 11 days time.
This was £2 in Blockbusters when I popped in earlier, not sure if that is just local though. (This was pre-owned)

It's a good chick flick, with some great stars.
Surprisingly good fantasy film, I was expecting a gooey romance.
I got this online from Blockbuster last week for £2 delivered
Poor Man's 'Princess Bride'
£2 in Asda too!
An enjoyable film, not brilliant but fun.

Looks like this is not the best deal though....

Indeed, just ordered, from Blockbuster.

Blockbuster is also a hell of a lot quicker delivering than Zavvi/The Hut and customer service far better and quicker. Cold deal I'm afraid.

Exactly, I ordered it as well. As we were watching it on TV but then my fiancee had to deal with something. Well for £2!
Poor Man's 'Princess Bride'

And stupid comment of the day award goes to...

It might not be as sharp as Gaiman's book but it's hardly the poor relative to Princess Bride
What's happening with the voting here?

No offence to the OP as it is a few pence cheaper than it's been generally the last six months...
...but are people demented?

You don't vote a DVD deal hot just because it's under £2.99 or cheaper than when you bought it!

This is 42% more expensive than the Blockbuster deal but still gets to 130degrees...

P.S. Princess Bride is a great film - I'd have both films in my fantasy top ten ;-)

P.P.S. OP - I just spotted that you need to amend your description - the Blockbusters £2 deal is online with free delivery as well as in store.
