A young man promises his beloved that he'll retrieve a fallen star by venturing into the magical realm, where he has to contend with witches, goblins, gnomes, talking animals and evil trees.

A young man named Tristan (Charlie Cox) tries to win the heart of Victoria (Sienna Miller), the beautiful but cold object of his desire, by going on a quest to retrieve a fallen star. His journey takes him to a mysterious and forbidden land beyond the walls of his village. On his odyssey, Tristan finds the star, which has transformed into a striking girl named Yvaine (Claire Danes).

However, Tristan is not the only one seeking the star. A king's (Peter O'Toole) four living sons - not to mention the ghosts of their three dead brothers - all need the star as they vie for the throne. Tristan must also overcome the evil witch, Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer), who needs the star to make her young again.

As Tristan battles to survive these threats, encountering a pirate named Captain Shakespeare (Robert De Niro) and a shady trader named Ferdy the Fence (Ricky Gervais) along the way, his quest changes. He must now win the heart of the star for himself as he discovers the meaning of true love.

Good price, awful film!
#3
Good price and a I thought a very good film. Highly entertaining and not your normal run-of-the-mill type of film.

I saw Stardust at the cinema before xmas ,the other half loved it. Ordered it as a present for her .
Marvelous find.
#13
I thought I'd hate it but is was quite good, bit like the princess bride :whistling:

Regardless of the fact HD DVD is dead, this is still not a good price. It may be good in comparison to the retail price of a hi-def film, £13 for a disc is horrible.
#15
Lay off the movie, my mate was in it :)
#16
Fantastic film.
#17
i ordered this 2 days ago at 5 pounds more ...just sent an email to them asking for a refund on the difference............ can i assume i'll get it ?

If you loved the film, then check out NEIL GAIMAN's other books.... Neverwhere is my fav. He had a big hand in the film, so stayed pretty true to the book. HOT!

A friend recommended this movie the other evening, so going for it at this price. Thnx

btw...never used this site before, are they any good? They look to be based out of the U.S....so does that mean orders delivered to the UK could get custom charges applied? If so, how much could they charge you on a £12.99 DVD?
#21
Total prices under £18 dont attract any customs charges, so you should be fine with this.
#22
site is down, no problems with the company is there

Movietyme are good, i have ordered from there quite a few times. I think they are based in the us but they seem to have somewhere in the uk where they dispatch some things because ive had a movie come two days after ordering it. Also i believe the minimum you can get charged though customs is £18 worth of goods, but people hardly ever get charged.

Absolutely Superb FIlm. Isn`t HD DVD almost dead though!?
#25
Probably my fav film of last year (If Mr Ross can have Ratatouille, I can have this)
I will buy this but holding out for a tenner.

If people have HD DVD drives/payers what difference does that make? It is a good film at a good price irrespective of wether the format will become obsolete (though we are still not near an outright winner though BluRay is storming away  )

This is one of my all time fav films. Saw it at the cinema. Great cast, funny, wish they had it out on blu-ray!
#28
you must have only seen one or two films at the cinema then!?
#29
