This Stargate SG.1 boxset is a complete collection of the science-fiction based television show - featuring all episodes from series 1 through to series 10!

The Stargate is an intergalactic gateway, developed by an ancient civilization, that links other planets from other solar systems to ours. The U.S. Air Force assembles a Stargate team headed by Colonel Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson of "MacGyver") for interstellar peace-keeping missions. Boasting incredible special effects sequences, rapid-fire pacing and awesome scenes of alien warfare, Stargate SG-1 is your gateway to pulse-pounding, sci-fi action.

Stargate - Continuum: Following SG-1 and The Ark of Truth, Stargate: Continuum is the latest chapter in this incredible series. The venerable Richard Dean Anderson returns to the fold, whilst the late Don S. Davis makes his final appearance as General George Hammond. Spectacular sci-fi at its best!

While SG-1 attends the execution of Ba'al, the last of the Goa'uld System Lords, Teal'c and Vala inexplicably disappear into thin air. Carter, Daniel and Mitchell race back to a world where history has been changed: the Stargate program has been erased from the timeline. As they try to convince the authorities what's happened, hundreds of Goa'uld motherships arrive in orbit, led by Ba'al, his queen Qetesh (Vala), and his first prime, Teal'c. The remaining SG-1 members must find the Stargate and set things right before the world is enslaved by the Goa'uld.

Stargate - The Ark Of Truth: In search of an Ancient artifact they hope can defeat the oppressive Ori, the team learns that the Ori are set to launch a final assault on Earth and a double-crossing I.O. operative is aboard the Odyssey (This storyline, wraps up the primary storyline of season 9 and 10 of SG1).

I actually bought it when the Amazon deal appeared. The first episode was fine, but after the Enemy Within episode, it all went a bit meh. At what point does it really start to get interesting, with good story arcs etc?

If anyone is feeling generous (maybe won the lottery, recently walked into a door frame, etc) I'm more than happy to PM you my details & you can buy it for me. Another member of the 'I really want it but skint' group.

Many thanks in advance

There are several episodes in the first series that actually have some significance later on in the series, so I wouldnt really skip any... I think the mid point of series 1 has a few good episodes.

Very tempting to have it all in one box.....
Not long bought the Farscape boxset tho so think the good lady would shoot me!

As for when it gets interesting; there are a few of the good ol' 'getting to know you' type episodes that seem a bit dull but it's worth it as the seasons tick down. I personally love when the Asgard & Replicators episodes are in full flow.

Gotta have some heat mate....

The Blu Ray boxset will be about another 2+ years, and that's even if they release one, the 1st series will be out on Blu Ray next year though.

I bought this having not watched any stargate at all and I really enjoy it. better than I thought it was. doesn't take itself too seriously and a nice sci-fi to unwind to unlike say star trek which isn't my cup of tea.

the picture is good, I'm pleased that its viewable in fullscreen on my HDTV, a lot of older tv series dvds have a 14:3 picture with big black borders down the sides (i.e. 24) and its really awful.

I'm confused by the lack of subtitles of any kind on the early seasons, though I'm told they're there on later seasons.

I will be quite surprised if this drops significantly lower than £99 anytime soon. the individual seasons can still be found for £19 or so and 10 seasons is a hell of a lot.

the bluray is miles off and they'll charge a fortune for it. this isn't really a series I need to see in HD either so thats why I took the plunge now.

worth it.

Before you decide to buy theres something to weigh up.

The first episode 'Children of the Gods' has been remastered and edited. It is now 'Children of the Gods - Final Cut'.
Several things they have been changed. Dialogue for example to make it make more sense in the later episodes and the full nude frontal scene has been cut to make it for the whole family. Also a lot of special effects have been added and the iris of the gates has been retouched to how they are now.

No doubt there will be another box set released in the future.

Really tempting - recently started watching Stargate SG1 from the start, now upto Season 5 and getting really good.Very good price for what you get imo, but still pricey. I'm gonna think it over but heat & rep added

Cackles

...and the full nude frontal scene has been cut to make it for the whole family.

As it's my first run through of the series, I can't comment on the other changes, but this scene definitely made it into the version which came with the advertised box set.
