Be careful with this. Me and another guy bought this from FoxDirect when it was the same price before and vol.30 doesn't work. They sent a replacement and it still didn't work. We had to continue to get on at them for about 6 months before they finally sent us a working disc. Be very very careful!

Great price though for such an amazing series.

Also on a side note this comes packaged as 3 giant jumbo cases.

Arghhh.... why do they do this? Admittedly the old old style was far too cumbersome (6 single 14mm Amarays per season), but the old style (1 6-way case per season) was perfectly OK.

Yup, anybody know? I'm waiting for bluray too.

Been watching this on amazon prime, why is the stargate almost always in the middle of a field half an hour away from the only 20 people on the whole planet?

Probably never, the SFX shots in the earlier seasons were recorded in a low def format so they would probably need to be re-shot for a Blu-ray release and I doubt there's any financial benefit for doing this.

True :p

I guess the ancients didn't like congestion :)

One reason may be the goauld used the stargates to populate planets with their human slaves. They kept them away from them so they couldn't work them out and used fear and intimidation to control them. When they did see stargate, the only thing that tends to come through was the evil goaulds and jaffa, so they kind of wanted to be away from them.

Sound a bit geeky now lol. 8)

Apparently the first two or three seasons were shot on 16mm film which essentially means (Disclaimer: I'm by no means an expert in film, just recalling what I have read in the past) that manufacturing a decent HD print is not feasible. Everything post season three, I believe could be put onto BluRay without issue (indeed many of the later seasons were broadcast in HD).

So, in short: I'm not convinced it's going to happen. Obviously Atlantis didn't suffer from this issue as the whole series was broadcast in HD.

35mm that well known 'low def format'

16mm has a higher 'resolution' than full HD

I have hope still. It will happen eventually.

<3 Teal'c in HD.

They never turn up and it's a transport hub or tourist attraction, not a coach park in sight!
