being a st austell boy i can see this is a good deal. Shame its not on the standard tribute, not tried the extra. Going to try one today. Thanks heat added.
plus go to any beer retailing site and 24 bottles for 27quid is about normal
misleading title...gives the impression of no purchase neccesary...it's 2 for 1 really.

My case arrived yesterday morning - ie good efficient delivery (though packaging very basic - still, it arrived safely).
Checked how good a bottle tasted last night = VERY tasty = bargain.
Still showing at the reduced price, in stock at 6:30pm Wed 10/9.

Really nice dark ale! It's tricky finding pubs that actually stock the stuff, which is why they probably have too much stock. The same applies to another of their ales called Smugglers.

The only pub I've seen that stocks both of them is the County Arms in Truro.
I'll wait a couple of months. It should be even cheaper then. :)
Much prefer their tribute & proper job.
re FREE DELIVERY - ie where - taken from their website notes:
"How much does delivery cost?
Delivery and VAT to the UK mainland* is included in the prices of all items. The price you see is the price you pay.
*Unfortunately, due to prohibitive delivery costs, we cannot deliver to the Scottish Highlands, the Scottish Islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly, the Channel Islands or Southern Ireland."

From the Brewery Tour they had a story why "Stout" became associated with Ireland [eg Guinness/Murphy's] which is repeated on this BBC page about St Austell Brewery relaunching the 1913 Stout recipe...

BTW: I do recommend their Brewery Tour... (which ended in a busy/popular bar/restaurant]

and if I remember correctly as I had come by public transport [it's a bit of an uphill climb from railway/bus station, but not TOO uphill or far] there was a small discount for that too!
