Wtf. And your gender is male.
You're a disgrace.
Man up. It's meat, a dead animal. Dead things don't always look appetising.
Stick that lot on the barbecue though and you've got yourself a party. :p
Not sure I'd be that strong on wording but yes that's the only thing that puts me off, as an ale/wine drinker. I used to drink it happily when I was 19-20 though (before I saw the light)

True it does taste good, I used to eat meat but turned veggie from learning about it all. I feel more of a 'man' not being responsible for such poor treatment, but I have removed the pic as I don't want to seem preachy.. :)

Sounds like a good deal to me, even if the steak is not as above :)
Just because the steak isn't 28 day matured, hand carved etc etc doesn't mean it can't taste good - it's all in the preparation. Failing that, slap a load of chilli sauce over it - hey it works for kebabs !

hmm quite a contrast to my experiences my mum used to be veggie but has become a meat eater as you can now buy a lot higher welfare products in certain places
well sainsburys and upwards anyway

So not true - you can ruin a good piece of meat through poor prep, but you can't do much with a bad bit of meat except bury the flavour and texture beneath sauces.
And if you're gonna do that, what's the point?

i was thinking the exact same, produce is king, not prep
depending upon the situation, finding a pair of knickers in your glove box sounds like an even better father's day......

I think it's a primal thing...a bit like cooking on coals. Agreed the quality will be questionable but for a fiver you get what you pay for...a steak tenderiser can really worth wonders with a tough old piece of steak. I can't afford to spend £20/kg for a well hung piece of organic sirloin.
Ta OP.
Will be spending my fiver there tomorrow ! x
