#4
Why the cold votes? This is an awesome game and an amazing price!
#5

Cold vote from people who wanted start steam thread ;p

Forgot to say Stomrise was same price the holidays so not really a 5 day deal

Probs because people keep making a new tread everyday. Like me yesterday i made the daily deal and all i got was crap from people saying they should all be in one thread. I agree there are some good deals today. Heat added. Stormrise looks pretty good although you need a good computer to play it. Might give it a shot though for the price. Heat added.

was thinking getting stomrise but looking at the reviews it's bad
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001P81GIQ/soundsvault-21
for £2.84 then add it to steam

Also silent hill seem to have poor rating :(

King Arthur is garbage by the way, bought it a fortnight ago - not worth a tenner nevermind what they're asking on it for a deal!

Most probably because it looked like this when it was first posted:

Pretty sad posting the thread before the deals are announced just so (s)he could be the person that posts them...

#13
pretty sure mod can check who keep doing it :) christopher could you resize the screenshot

Jade Empire's a great game, I've just bought so many "flashbacks" that I can't afford another one. It's kind of an offshoot from KOTOR, they're both by Bioware and have moderately similar game mechanics.
#15
Hot yet I dont want to buy any of the games...

Was interested in Silent Hill but its got quite poor reviews and apparently a bad port so thats out...

Have Company of Heroes and never finished it. Stormrise is supposedly aweful. Jade Empire looks quite interesting but havent even started Mass Effect to think about any RPG.

Fantastic value. Didnt need to sell my unopened Opposing Forces and buy the Anthology from play.com had I known ToV was going to be this price.
FWIW The Tales of Valor is a standalone expansion and the best £2.49 ever spent if people like strategy games.

Anyhow too busy playing Day of Defeat (£1.74) to play this now .... hehe

are steam always on sale now?

are steam always on sale now?

Steam have regular weekly sales (normally always a "weekend deal" and more often now a "during the week" deal). However, from a few days ago until 3rd Jan, there are new deals every day (and a few that run all the way through). Good times, but, hurt the wallet!
#20
there is also a sale on a DFS
#21
which day of defeat?

which day of defeat?

Source. (But it is a modern take on the original maps - very addictive!)
#23
got both somewhere abouts, got a lot more out of the first, a brilliant game (for its time?) used to play it on a dial up slow connection as well and it was fine. For some reason didn't real get into source, may give it another go

Well, like a lot of people he is probably getting sick of these Steam deals being posted. I think that everyone is now aware of what Steam are doing with their daily deals, so we don't need a new thread every day about them.
#25
I say the mods just unexpire the main thread.
#26
Whats so wrong with posting a new thread with steam deals everyday? it hardly takes up much room on the site and the deals end on 3rd january anyway.

todays deals aren't that good though, hopefully they'll be better tomorrow, still hoping for modern warfare to be on sale soon.

It's a case of context I'd say, sure no-one wants to see DFS and World of Leather sales, but if they suddenly actually had deals worth knowing about, say sofas delivered for £99, I don't think people would mind a thread.

When I'm picking up new games for under £2 and decent stuff, too, it's nice to see a new list daily.

It'll all end on the 3rd, and be back to regular, less exciting offers I feel, and things will slow down to two topics a week.

honestly, my Steam 'owned games' list is now too long to fit on the screen! blew another £11 on 6 more games today, but I just can't say no at these prices, they'll keep me going thru the poor times when I can't afford new stuff.

Defense Grid, Beyond Good and Evil, GRID, Braid, Torchlight, STALKER,Prey, it's been a damn fine week for those of us with a bit of spare cash, or some xmas money to spend!

Incidentally, anyone notice that Prey 'sold out' and was replaced with Bioshock (another great game)? I didn't know you COULD sell out of games thru DD sales.

I would imagine that Steam has to give the company that owns the game proceeds from a sale, I would imagine that they could only authorise x number of copies to sell - as the company that owns Prey didn't want them to sell more than x amount at a cut-price.
And finally, I would imagine, that Steam quite knew it was going to run out and had Bioshock lined up already.

Jade Empire is an good oldie, I heard good things about Mr. Robot, I might pop for it at £1.20; but I'm so caught up in my Bookworm Adventures right now...
