wow the whole deals are pretty great, but the thq 15 game pack is epic value for £26

just bought batman, and grid for £18.74 :)
#4
I wonder if Grid is as hard to play as these user reviews state
#5
Thanks, hope TF2 is reduced again, want to buy it as a gift for someone
#6
I've only played GRID with a 360 controller and it handles perfectly.

I got Osmos <3, can't quite justify getting Batman (yet).

Yeah downloads for PC. I've already got GRID - great game. Just picked up Batman: Arkham Asylum. £10 less than most places. Good find.
#12

Nice spot, thats an amazing deal on te THQ pack!

I've been playing Grid again tonight and for me, it's not the AI cars that are the problem - it's my own fault for using them instead of my brakes. Which in turn leads to damage, which then makes the car (realistically!) very hard to control - I love the game and at this price, what is there to moan about?!

Interesting.
I just bought Grid 3-4 days ago. Got a cheapy steering wheel from Argos - returned it cause I couldn't even remotely control the car. It was like I was driving on ice. I thought it was the steering wheel. Well, today I got a Logitech DriveFX. It's meant for Xbox 360 but works on PC. Definitely better quality than the other I had. However, Grid is stil impossible to control. :x
I downloaded an old demo of Nascar 2003 and that one I can easily control.
I've tried all sorts of different settings in Grid but to no avail. I know my graphics card is below the minimum specs but I wouldn't have thought that made the car drive like it's on ice.
I just find it really peculiar that a lot of people love Grid and quite a few people says it's near impossible to control. Really strange.
But for £3.74 it's worth the risk I suppose. I paid £9.99 unfortunately, and now I've got a game which I can't use :x

for Grid i always use a wired Xbox 360 controller......works nicely for me
#17
Incredible. Just bought Grid (£3.74), Osmos (£2), and the THQ Complete Pack (£26.49).
Red Faction Guerrilla is normally £35 on there!!

Does anyone find that Steam games seem to have a bit of lag - I've recently downloaded both Football Manager and Overlord - both seem to lag constantly. Is it going to be because of my internet, or the memory of my PC?

seeing as those are both offline games and only use the internet connection for the initial download of the game and the drm then it will be your computer at fault

LOL Grid is awesome sorry but the people that moan about it and the controls and the spinning when on grass, etc are those that are use to going off the track not having to get round in a race and usually (not saying you are) those that play Gran (Yawn) Boreisimo. Ive raced Mini's you go offline & kerb it or grass and you spin simple same as in Grid. Lesson 1 learn to stay on the track and not crash into the opposition to slow down.

Having a below spec gfx card is just wrong, dont blame the game blame yourself :-D

I virtually start spinning as soon as I turn the wheel. I don't even have to get into the grass to do that. I might not be the best driver in the world, but this game just seems uncontrollable to me.
If I go over 30 mph I'll spin off the road in seconds. It might even do it that at less than 30mph. I kid you not.

That THQ complete pack is crazy value, sooo many hours of gaming there for soo little money.

If I didn't own most of them in one form or another I would be on that so fast.

Great deals

grid is not the 'best racing game ever' but it is a very good arcady racing game that is a whole lot of fun online
#26
cool deal don't want any of the current games though waiting to see if any decent multiplayer games get on there
#27
Man... dragon age is sooo tempting...

I wanna badly know what's coming up over the weekend though! If I could get left 4 dead 2 or borderlands for £22 it'd be amazing!! Remember I bought a tonne of steam stuff this time last year for thanksgiving weekend.

As others have said, a great deal for THQ complete pack. To be honest, even at normal price it's a great deal.
#35
Good deal..

Nice deal just bought the THQ pack and Grid :D

Can't wait to see what other great deals will be on the site in the next few days.

Spent loads of time with GRID some months ago, I found it most entertaining in the demo derby and the japanese racing mode (I forget what it's called, basically involves a lot of fishtailing). It was the most frustrating straight up racing game I've actually spent any time with though.
#38
Bought me some GRID :-D

That first video was pathetic. Im a huge fan of Grid but most of the footage is cg in there... sad.

Also, unfortunately because of the morons you will encounter online, I wish damage model was NOT built in. Some people like nothing better than to drive in the opposite direction and destroy other's cars.

However, Grid is awesome fun when you have friends together who are serious about not touching eachother's cars and driving in the best of line.

Also, the american tracks SUCK! Stick to Lemans races and its the best.

Royals, give the game one more try but this time try the following things for me:

1- Dont start the race with full revs. Timing is everything at the start. When the timer is between 2sec and 1sec, then press the accellerator.

2- Try playing with the keyboard. May sound funny but the keyboard works great.

3- Very much like GT series, focus on the line, if you even step on the grass, the game penalises quite harshly.

4- Focus on one car. I ONLY use Lamborghini for all my LeMans races. Most of my friends only stick with Aston Martin. Each car handles very differently, to the point where some cars are quite useless (e.g. Corvettes in Le Mans).

5- Focus on one track at a time. Again, very much like GT, as long as you get your line and speed right, you'll have everyone in the rear view.

Hope this helps anyone interested.
