Story Synopsis:

When she left Earth, Ellen Ripley promised her daughter Amanda she would return home for her 11th birthday. Amanda never saw her again.

Fifteen years later, Amanda, now a Weyland-Yutani employee, hears that the flight recorder of her mother’s ship, the Nostromo, has been recovered at the remote trading station Sevastopol. The temptation for her to finally understand what happened is too much to resist. When the crew arrive at Sevastopol, they find something is desperately wrong. It all seems to be connected to an unknown menace, stalking and killing deep in the shadows.

In order to uncover the truth about her mother, Amanda is forced to confront the same terrifying thing that separated them.

-

Crew Expendable Bonus Content – Choose to play as one of three surviving crew members, only moments after Brett’s death at the jaws of the creature. As Ellen Ripley, Dallas or Parker, you can explore the Nostromo from habitation deck down through engineering, coordinating efforts with Lambert and Ash to lure the Alien into the ship’s airlock.

I'm rely tempted as this game looks fantastic but I've still got memories of colonial marines, I think I might wait for the reviews. Still Voted HOT as it's a barging price

I'm REALLY tempted by the price, BUT GAME has the upper hand with the "Last Survivor" DLC which apparently is playing as Ellen in the end of the original film :s

although im really looking forward to a great Alien, I have a feeling the story will be good in this game but the gameplay with be a reskinned outlast, amnesia, daylight, etc!

the old FPS horror with no gun shaky cam stuff goin on! im already bored after those games!

Anyone pre-ordering this is taking one heck of a chance given past events!

That said, since the patch and with a few simple config tweaks A:CM on PC isn't anything like the train wreck that game is on the consoles.

Am I missing something? I thought the developers of this game were different to the ones who made Colonial Marines? If so, how does that game being poor bear any relevance to this one?

I bought CM for around £4 on 360 a couple of weeks after launch, and the only bug that I ran into was at some point one of the aliens kept getting stuck behind a wall and not attacking. The graphics were terrible but other than that I actually enjoyed playing through it.

Unfortunately, I have been wanting to get aboard the Nostromo and Narcissus since I was about 7 - so it looks like I'll be pre-ordering.
Price is good for me, so heat for that, but I think I'll be going with Game so I can get on the Narcissus XD

Just read that most of the original cast of the film actually reunited to voice the DLC missions. :)

You'd have to be insane to pre order this.

If you don;'t want to pre order it, just close the link. No one is interested in your opinion really.
Yes. Marines wasn't as good as it promised to be but that was a different company, different brand and different promise.

This seems a lot more like Amnesia/Outlast with the Alien atmosphere, a completely different game/idea. Pre-ordering is taking a risk and we are all aware of that.

So - shall we focus on the pre order deal? :D

People should be interested in my opinion, as this could quite feasibly turn out to be a massive turd just like most of the other Aliens games in the last 5 years. If people want to throw their money at a game before there's even any reviews, and with a track record in the genre of massive failures, more fool them.

Marines being 'not as good as promised' is possibly the understatement of the century.

This guy says it better than I can. http://www.polygon.com/2014/7/10/5887425/aliens-isolation-ripley-preorder-exclusive-no

That being said, I hope this turns out to be good for those who do pre order.

Dude that's an issue with pre ordering games in GENERAL which I partially agree with. We have Day 1 DLCs nowadays because people started to pre order games so games many times will come out as "incomplete" so they can release extra content. It's taking a chance and you pretty much do that with a lot of digital content anyway since most places won't have a returns policy.

So yeah, the market is flawed - the issue is not Aliens though and definitely not this game since it's being developed by completely different people. The problem is, the brand has a huge following and they know that - at least this time the actors are also behind it and supporting the project in a way. Or did you not hear that a LOT of the cast from the film wasn't happy because of Colonial Marines and the lack of female characters?

So yeah..it's taking a chance. I hope it's good, but I'm taking a chance here hoping I won't be disappointed (which I also did with Colonial Marines...oh if only I could return my Collector's Edition -.-)

Yeah totally, and I agree! Pre ordering in general is a risky business.

We've all been burned by tempting pre orders, that turn out to be tosh. Not on :(
