You've spelt "AaAaAA!!!" wrong.

It's AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!!
#4
Mafia 2 is a genuine bargain.
#5
Does the Steam sale finish today i.e. is this the last update of offers. Or will there be another final update of offers tomorrow evening?
#6
MoH is good single player but the Online is rubbish, would rather buy CSS for FPS.
#7
Divinity 2 is well worth it - improved graphics engine, smoothed out difficulty curve and the expansion all bundled in.
#8
It's hardly Half-Life Complete while Episode Three has yet to arrive.......................

Discounts not that good today .. £9.99 for Settlers 7? I would have thought £9.99 would be normal price now, would have hoped for £3-5 for settlers then I would buy it.

You can even get the collectors edition with the figure for £12 from amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0035JKUDK/ref=nosim/?tag=hotukdeals-21

Sure hope so. I can't be the only one who has reserved making most of their purchases until the 'inevitable' final day sale.
Funnily enough the only thing I have purchased is Garry's Mod. Bet it's 99p tomorrow lol.

Nearly bought Claptrap for Borderlands but remembered I haven't even played the two expansions I bought 6 months ago.

even tho I have hl1, blue shift etc I'm thinking about getting the hl1 anthology as it's under £2(£1.34, get 85% instead of 75% as I have l4d & l4d2 wish it was more off for people with both), I never did complete hl1(got stuck somewhere then had to do a windows reinstall and never got around to reinstalling hl1 and trying to complete the game) nor get very far in blue shift. hl2 I tried playing again awhile back, tried loading my save but it still started the game from the start for some reason.

will hl1 & hl2 + there respective expansions etc work under windows 7 64bit? I'm going to be reformatting my hard disk and installing windows 7, currently have vista 64bit and been meaning to install win 7 as I got it when I was released.

might get company of heroes gold, is tales of valor worth getting? wish football manager was cheaper, amazon and play have it for £15.
#13
Thanks OP - may get Medal of Honor

And guys if you liked the Grand Theft Auto series then you'll love Mafia 2. Its immense :)
#14
I got Half Life 1 Anthology for £1.34 am considering Mafia 2 now... (it was a bit of a let down for me)
Pretty sure this is the last day as it said through to the 2nd of jan.

Yeah there's one tomorrow which will be a 'best of' from the last two weeks.

It's worth highlighting that VVVVVV is an incredible, if very short, indie platformer. It is still £1.99 (goes back to £3.99 after the promotion), or for £3.99 you can get a pack which also includes the fantastic Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved.

I've picked up a few bargains in this promotion (FEAR 2, Crysis pack, VVVVVV, Red Alert 3, The Ball) and BFBC2 was fantastic for anyone who didn't already have it, but overall I would say last winter's sale was better.

True but theres nothing to do unlike GTA. The world is beautiful but the game is very linear with no side missions or other stuff (games etc.) as you get in GTA. So yea it has an amazing world but its pretty much void of anything meaningful.

But is it worth paying £5 for. Just spent £15 this morning on some Steam games so not sure if I want to spend more. There have been some great bargains in their sales though
#19
Yep, I do agree its worth £5. So buy it if you can. I just didn't think the comparison with GTA was entirely spot on, thats all.

Agreed, im going to wait for the episode 3 as they will do a combined bundle again and you will get some sort of special offer to make you want to buy the complete pack.

Deals not that great today imo, but i'll still vote hot as divinity 2 is good for the price as its been £19.99 for a while and i've been tempted.

If you want Half Life Episode 1 and 2 it's worth a look - owning Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, I just got them for under a quid each.
#22
Brought Mafia 2 £5 and the 2 £1.50 dlc's, Darksiders £5, Crysis £2.50, Far Cry 2 £2.50, Serious Sam HD 1 & 2 £2.20, The Witcher £3.25 Total £23.58 all bargains.

But the best bargains I think for the 2 weeks were Battlefield Bad Company 2 £6.80, L4D 2 £3.70, Dirt 2 £3.75, GTA Game of Year Edition £6.24, Resident Evil 5 £6.80 and Mafia 2 £5 but had all them already except the last 1.

P.S Steam ownz and so does PC gaming

Both work absolutely fine on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 for me.

Ion Assault is the Indie deal of the day at £2.50. Has anybody tried it?

That's crazy talk! Many of us have been waiting since 2007 to play it.

I was tempted, but unimpressed at the lack of a PC demo. Might have to connect the 360 up to see what it's like first.

Don't - register the installation code(s) for the versions you posess (since thay are already Valve) and they'll appear under your Steam account. I did this for the old "Half-life Generations" anthology box a few years back. Half-Life, Team Fortress Classic, Deathmatch Classic, Counter Strike, Ricochet, Opposing Force and Blue Shift all added to the account.

I don't think Win 7 has any issuse with original Half-life - it certainly works fine with Half-Life 2.

I think we might be in luck this year as valve has been droping hints via twitter, hopefully not long now :D

If you enter your product key into Steam you will be able to download them. I don't think you can install from the discs and have Steam recognise it.

just dug out my hl1(generation edition, hl1 goty, cs, opp force) and blue shift(bought for £30 at the time), wrote down all the cd keys to enter in steam but when I entered the hl1 key it said it was the platinum edition and unlocked everything(hl1, tf classic, cs, opp force, blue shift, ricochet, deathmatch classic, day of defeat). guess I don't need to enter the other 3 cd keys I wrote down.

ok so that's £1.34 saved, now to decide if I should get company of heroes(gold + tales of valor comes to £6.23). need to play divine divinty before getting divinity 2 so hopefully it'll be lower than £15 by that time.

Mafia 2 and the two dlc extensions as well as half life pack for me I think :)
#34
mafia 2 seems a good deal though it's not meant to be great, got enough to play so gonna skip it

wouldn't touch the rest, as steam goes these are bad deals - most you could get for similar prices retail. i'd note with the sale ending soon we're likely to see some good pack deals tomorrow. also, do not forget the indie packs. good thread here http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1694961 but the fright, flight and adventure ones are easily worth the asking price (£4) and the heavy hitter may seem expensive for indie games but works out very little each and some of those such as braid and world of goo are amazing (missed humble indie bundle again this year :( )

also MoH is poo, you will get far more enjoyment from just playing cod:MW / 2 again

trying to decide if I should get half life source(half life souce and half life deathmatch source) as it's only 89p for me(have both l4d and l4d2, wish they did bigger discount for owners of both).

I'm also missing day of defeat source and counter strike condition zero from my collection, worth getting them(£5.98)? have the orange box and lost coast.
#36
halflife and it's attendant addons are still worth a play but i'd skip the old multiplayer games, the maps are small and not very detailed and the gameplay lends itself to twitch shooting or camping - used to play all the online shooters of that era and HL ones have aged the worst IMO
banned#37
well bit the bullet and got half life source as it's only 89p, will see tomorrow if day of defeat source and counter strike condition zero are reduced any further.

is hl:s much better graphically etc compared to the original? will have to have a play of both versions to see the difference.

HL:S is running on a newer engine - the same Source engine as HL2 - however the graphics haven't been improved (same models and textures as the orginal version), the game has just been remade using the new engine, its visual effects and physics (so particle effects and explosions may look more impressive). If you were using the high resolution textures from the Blue Shift disc previously it may even look worse as those aren't used by HL;S .
