My fault; I copy and pasted from my topic yesterday and forgot to change the dates. Fixed now. Thanks for spotting it.

Is it just me or is serious sam more than 50% ;)

Never winter night 2 is the one I'm after, tho will prob get serious sam, killing fall and maybe mirrors edge(worth it?). got kotor the last time it was on sale even tho I already had it on disc.

Nothing for me this time, KOTOR is a steal though. Everyone should try it for that price.
One of my most played through games, shame it has no decent widescreen support for my monitor and looks stretched as hell.

Serious Sam for me, Mirrors edge is good, got it for 360. Does get frustrating though, but one more try type of frustration, not throwing pad at TV frustration. IMO.
#6
Hot for Sam. Excellent price.

I had it on the Xbox but never finished it. I'm thinking of picking it up again; it's worth a punt at that price even if I don't play it much.
#8
pfft, another bunch of games that don't interest me much.

I might get killing floor though, played the demo and was alright. Anyone recommend it?
#9
Killing Floor and Serious Sam are both must-haves for the FPS lover.
#10
A Steam sale is a funny thing. You have serious bargains like Killing Floor next to very expensive sale items like Hawx 2. I am not buying a thing until the last day of the sale.
#11
Killing Floor and Machinarium are Mac and PC

There is a widescreen patch, along with another that alters the icons to fit your resolution - plays nicely in 1080p on my PC :)

I picked up Lost Planet 2 - mediocre game, but meant to be good fun in coop

oh yeah ..forgot 1440*900 was min for it.

Serious Sam is an awfully boring game, there's no nous -or anything else- to it at all. If you want a kill everything in sight game then Killing Floor wipes the....floor with it. I'd recommend that from this sale. Plus Kotor. Machinarium is good, I don't know if a clicking game is worth that price though (let alone its horrendous RRP).
#20
Serious Sam is a dodging FPS which is quite rare in the genre since Doom II. But Doom had more about it than Serious Sam, which focuses on endless dodging and shooting in large arenas.

Isn't every PC game a 'clicking game'?

In all seriousness though, it is well worth that price.

Has to be Hot!

Serious SAM HD the first and the second encounter (plus old versions) for £2.99 is a great buy. If you like old skool type FPS (think Duke Nukem or Doom style game play, but with better graphics and sound) then you'll love these. These games will run OK on most PCs.

MACHINARIUM IS ACE :) definately a steal at £2.24
#24
This is hot just for KOTOR! buy it
#25
what about eve online?? i've heard some good things about it! and was thinking of the killing floor!
#26
Killing Floor is good for a laugh: just turn the music off as it will induce a headache.

Also, save yourself a quid and just get the base game instead of the complete pack, as the other stuff is just a few skins for your character (which you can't see anyway unless you find a mirror). £3.74 instead of £4.86.

I must agree with you, it's cool. Seems pretty difficult, which is how classic point and click adventures should be.

well got nwn2 pack, serious sam hd pack, mirrors edge and killing floor pack £18.58. these steam sales are costing me lots of money, have bought more game than I'll get through :(
might not have as many as some, but have 52 games now. need to sit down and work out how much i've spent on them.
#30
A lot of these games are actually overpriced. KOTOR's on sale every five minutes so that isn't too unusual. £15 for Lost Planet 2 on PC seems cheeky, too - it's only £13.55 to buy on DVD from Amazon!

All the good stuff (Machinarium) I already picked up in a previous sale; I'm hoping today there'll be something in the sale I didn't buy already :P

If you hit account details in Steam it will helpfully show you all your past purchases. Feel free to copy paste prices into a spreadsheet and swoon :D

what about eve online?? i've heard some good things about it! and was thinking of the killing floor!
EVE-Online is great but its a subscription based game. the initial 14.99 gets you the first month. its a great game though, I've been playing it for 5 years on three accounts :) you used to be able to buy these deals and add them to your exisitng subscription but I think they closed the loop hole, as I was in Game yesterday having a laugh at thier 'sale' prices and saw EvE and on the back of the box it said new subscriptions only
#33
KOTOR - bargain! 8)
#34
Also in the sale, Altitude is 75% off at £1.74 - a seriously fun multiplayer game that's another steal :)

You have saved me! But it looks difficult to patch on steam!

Yeah this is what I did, stuff the character packs... lol

Was tempted by Machinarium, but I found Samorost 1 and 2 (as nicely-designed as they were) to be a bit of a slog. The only other thing to catch my interest is KOTOR, but my laptop has a resolution of 1336x768 so no dice.
